Dlask 870 - 12.5" & 14" - fixed mod or cyl ?

Have read in a couple places on here these barrels are fixed modified ? Figured they would have been cyl. bore.
(know you can get Dlask to thread for chokes but that's a different matter).

Can anyone confirm this ?

No doubt they are heavy and can be snug fitting with forend fitment required in most cases. Man, these barrels look thick.

Thinking I'd like to get a 12.5" when they come available again. Getting very tired of all Chinese guns so don't want to go the DA barrel route.

I vaguely remember whoever I talked to on the phone over there saying that they're MOD, and when I asked if they did forcing cone work, they said these barrels had a pretty long forcing cone already and it'd hardly be worth it.

You better check with them though, this was years ago and much of their product line has changed.

Regarding my 12.5", it throws great patterns with shot but can sometimes throw derpy fliers with larger buckshot, and of course it sucks with FliteControl rounds.

I'd actually rather have less constriction, but its not a huge deal to me.

Yes, would imagine mod choke wouldn't do well with FliteControl.

Given the extra heavy weight of the Dlask 12.5" barrel, I'm bettin' it would probably be a good choice for a Witness Protection 870. Might tame the recoil a little bit to make it a touch more controllable. Too bad it would be restricted though.

I personally find the extra weight detrimental, since I mostly rely on muscle tension to absorb recoil, and lots of heft, especially when its sitting well forward, means that it takes considerably more effort to do that over time.

Yes, know what you mean. Lugging around and operating my 870P for long periods is not as fun as my much lighter Fabarm !

Describing anything about a 12.5" 870 as "well forward" is a bit of a stretch. Maybe you're really short, but I don't find there is any weight to speak of out past my hand on mine.

I've got long barrelled shotguns, like my Ithaca 51 with a 30 inch barrel, that are considerably less muzzle heavy.

Maybe the lightweight Hogue stock on my 870 is a contributor, but having that much mass in a shotgun barrel is a joke.
