Opinions on brno mod 602?

The Ruger Alaskan is lighter, shorter & stainless, all good attributes for Joe Average 375 Owner.

I've owned two 602s over the years and think that they were too big/heavy for a 375H&H. Perfect for a 416 and very good actions otherwise. Most folk really don't need a 375 for big bears [myself incl.] so the CRF and all the heavy duty is a bit moot. I was just as happy toting a lightweight M700 in 375. If I lived in you neck of the woods, I would probably think otherwise.

Love my 1965 pop up peep 358 NM
Also a 300 WM, very heavy for calibre, I know why they discontinued this in the 602!!!
CZ/BRUNO get better with age :)
Those who like this company better get a CZ452 before there gone for good over the next month or two!!!!
Too bad CZ doesn't want to reinvest in the 452 machinery?

agreed....the '452' is worth grabbing before they are gone...I picked up a 'LR' years ago and a Varmint WMR just over a year ago.

Well, I didn't mean that you were leafing back one page at a time...but you must have hit "last" on the page-finder when entering the forum.

Not really. All one has to do is use the "Search" function looking for "ZKK 602" in the "Search titles only" field, two weeks ago and older, and you will get eight threads back as far as 2005.

Do the same with the "Search entire posts" field, and you will get pages of posts.

Try Search using "ZKK602", and you will find even more!

It wasn't too big and heavy for my 375 (not 378) Weatherby Magnum shooting 270 gr bullets close to 3000 fps, and 300s a tad over 2800 after Bevan King rechambered it. That long action allowed the bullets to be set almost a quarter inch further out, and still feed properly, and the extra weight made it comfortable to shoot offhand.

It was a beast off the bench, however. :)

Dang! I never considered the search function...just barely into February, and I've already made my first mistake for the year! :d:rolleyes::cool:
 
A buddy gave me a brand new one in 6.5x55 with the single set trigger.

I bought rings for it, scoped it and shot it for one session at the range, took my scope off and gave it back.

It was a fine rifle but heavier than anything I would want to hunt with.
 
Had new 602's back in mid 1980's. A 375 and .458. I was able to smooth out the action on the .375, but the .458 was so rough it would hardly function. They were pretty crude, but with a bit of skill could be made into a nice rifle. Well suited for calibers over .375. Just my opinion.
