5.56 VZ-58 shooters!

I can offhand clay pigeons with my Vortex Sparc 2moa red dot at 100 yards on a fairly regular basis. As long as I stay away from the coffee before heading to the gravel pits or the range

I havn't had much range time with mine but I have tried 3 different ammo. I have a 18.5'' barrel with a Bushnell 1-4x 223 scope.

55gr American Eagle gets me 4 MOA.
62 Federal Fuzion gives me 4 MOA.
69gr match ammo gives me 2 MOA but with one flyer. If you count the flyer it opens the group to... 4 MOA.

All groups are consistent and look the same. The flyer with the 69gr ammo always hit 2'' lower at 100 yards than the center of the group.

I've never actually sat down and did groups with my 18.5".

Going to be doing that next weekend. See how it does. But I'll have to buy more ammo.

VZs 5.56/7.62 are 3-4MOA rifles (factory specs). I bet they tested it with lots of different ammo and would like to be able to say 2 MOA, but they don't. So draw your own conclusions.

Best group I've had is .927" 5 shots at 100m. That's shooting my reloads through my 18.5" barrel VZ58 with side rail mount topped with Bushnell banner dusk and dawn 3-9x40. Have aspirations of using this rifle for canine hunting.

Load was 22.5gn CFE under a 55gn v-max bullet can't remember oal off the top of my head but still have a couple boxes being saved should I ever get the chance to do some canine hunting.
