is there ANYTHING worse than buying a new gun from the other side of the country and than waiting for it to get to you?

gun i have been stalking for a long while, ordered one, it had to be imported, now its in, CFO gave their blessing now its in the mail.... i refresh the Canada Post tracker couple times a day to watch it snail across the map.

waiting, waiting, waiting!

All things come to those who wait.

Have you ever realized that with Canada Posts tracking system or for that matter any bodies tracking system you can't tell where your package is, but rather just where it has been.

The waiting time is when you are the most excited! I sure hope they sent the right color ;)

Worse is when it shows up smashed into, quite literally, several pieces after waiting a month to pick it up from the post office. Complete satisfaction is when the vendor you bought from not only replaces it no questions asked but pays the return shipping for the trashed one. Full story to follow in a stand alone post, but Prophet River is outstanding!

I just went through this with canada post shipping my colt....didn't move for days and the person at the call center wasn't much help so I explained that I wasn't about to contact the retailer as they had sub standard communication and as far as I was concerned I paid the dealer and it was shipped so it's now in cp hands go figure it out. I was told only the shipper can initiate a inquiry not me as the receiver. So I asked for the supervisor and she was a total bag, rude and wouldn't let me finish a sentence without interruption
After I explained how it worked with restricted firearms...that since it's been transferred to my name I'm now responsible for it and that it hadn't moved from a processing center in days when other items had come west and this one hadn't I was concerned it was missing or stolen. She told me to wait it will be delivered by the date given and I said that was near impossible and if it hadn't made it there in that time I'd have to inform the rcmp and sure enough badda bing badda boom there it was and it moved..... go figure eh?

It's sad but makes me wonder really if I hadn't called and informed of my concerns and willingness to inform the rcmp if need be would she have finally got that figured out.....

I do appreciate the service my regular mailman gives but the call centre people are just useless...no wonder everyone hates the French(yes I can say that I'm half French but Europe French not quebecois)

Can post rant over!

Once you get your package it's not so bad...only to buy more stuff only hours later haha hope it's better this time around.

Worse still is when you sell something, totally regret it, and then have to take it to the post office to respect the deal that you have made. No guilt trip TT!

All I need to complete a new rifle build is the gas block. It's been waiting to clear Customs for eleven days now...

Ohmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...

I don't know if it's worse, but how about waiting for a transfer to be approved by the Ontario CFO? I have sold a member here a gun and we are going on 16 days waiting now for the CFO's office to send us their bullsh!t permission slip. I phone every 3 days just to let the CFC know this is crap. Still waiting...

BTW, the girls at the CFC don't like it if you suggest the transfer approval is an unnecessary permission slip.;)

Canada Post has been awesome - often ahead of what they predict. CFO is awesome too, but it would be SO NICE if they could email a reg certificate the same way they do a transfer notification. They have shaved time way down in my experience - from around 6 weeks to two weeks, but having the gun in hand and not being able to go to the range is just,,,, AAUGH!!!

Rob!

More frustrating is when you finally get the cash together to buy a new AR, give your info to the dealer then wait for approval, only to be told 15 days later that your range membership is expired so the transfer is stalled because you forgot to renew, and then your work schedule won't match up with you club open hours for another 5 days... #### my life.
