Normally, I wouldn't buy anything with the Chiappa name.

$400 bucks for one?
Alright, that's cheap enough to try.

Chiappa is famous for making cheap unreliable junk. Lots of plastic on these "M1-9's" as well.
That said, for $400 sign me up....

I don't know who taofledermaus is, but I'm not sure the review in post #8 gives it a fair shake. I don't own one and it might be the biggest raging piece of crap ever, but at least be objective.

Doesn't like the front sight, too wide? For him, or for the whole world? Is it adequate for the rifles intended purpose? What is it's actual width? You went through the effort to make a video, I'm sure 5 seconds with a micrometer and telling us wouldn't have killed you.

I could pick apart more of the video, but you get my point. I found it like watching cbc news.

I have 2. Never had a misfire, stovepipe or hiccup of any kind in a couple thousand rounds with the factory Chiappa magazines. Mostly reloads though, 124 grain lead round nose with 6.0 grains HS-6 powder and accuracy is GREAT out to 90 yards with that load. My son and I use them for our general purpose gun for close range coyote protection all the time. We did have some magazine issues with aftermarket mags but a bit of tweaking of the feedlips solved that issue. Great little cheap carbine as far as I'm concerned.

I got one with black stock and beretta mags . I just put a holo sight on it but haven't tryed it since . It's fun , not my favorite but not what the most report say . For $400 I'd buy it again

Let’s see some details of that holos sight install.
I had mine out earlier in 2017 and the rear sight ball bearing detents took a walk, so my rear sight is useless.
I’m thinking for the time and effort involved, I might just as well bubba it and install a small RMR or similar.

I owned one. It was junk. It looked nice but jammed, often, both with the OEM mag and the Baretta replacements. I also thought it badly needed a means of holding the bolt open. I went through my firearms last fall, culling the lower quality items, and it was the first to go.

I love mine. Just recently removed the front and rear sights, installed a mini reflex, and replaced the hammer spring with a factory ruger spring. Seems to have lightened the trigger pull considerably. Has the odd stovepipe, but it's pretty reliable.

When these first came out, I was really interested - partly because I have a 92FS and a stockpile of mags.

But the reviews have been almost universally bad. Lots of QC and reliability issues. Accuracy is "meh".

This is a case of a gun I really, really want to be even decent, and I would buy it. But it just isn't "there".

About my sentiments exactly.
I wanted this to be a good rifle so bad.
Every single review and video I've seen says drastically otherwise though sadly.
