[Richmond Gun Shop] Norinco T97 Gen2 in Stock!

Under a grand would be reasonable.
I paid more than a grand for my pre-order G1. Gonna pay to play bullpub.
My guess is these should be priced about 900-1000 to really sell. Then you need to ask again, who will really pay more than 1k for a Norinco.

People used to laugh who would ever pay more than a thousand dollars for a Norinco.

The Gen1 was over $1000 in most places until recently. Some people have well over $1500 into theirs with the FTU and LHG.

When Gen 1s are mid $700 price that almost double G2 price better come with something more than rail and sights.

Gen1 recently dropped in price, probably in anticipation of this coming out and nobody wanting the G1 anymore so they cleared them out cheap. Compared to the Gen1 before the price dropped, its more like $300 more not twice the price.

Waiting for $900 deal.

You might be waiting a long time. Like, forever kinda long time potentially...

Any word on whether the feed ramp was fixed on this model? I've been itching for a T97 for a while but I have really bad luck with this sort of thing, and don't want to take a $1000 gamble (or even an $800 gamble) on whether I get one that feeds or not.

Current price is current price; that's it. The Gen1 price dropped to 7xx, slightly more than 1/2 of current price of G2 $1310.
Playing the before the price drop game is same as trying to buy/sell stock at yesterday's price, NO NO.

When the first batch CQ-A1 rifles came in, they were around $950. Overtime the market balanced the prices to the correct 600-700 range.
Knowing that the T97 gen1 goes for 7xx range now. You know how much of a markup Norinco products can go for.
It will be a matter of time these will come down to its correct market value, which will be under $1000.

Hopefully these dont plague of the same QC issues of the gen1s.

But you can't really compare an old model to a new one either. Example, cars. You go into a car dealership, and they've got a 2016 and 2017 model of the same car. The 2017 will be more expensive. Newer models demand a premium. Then add the fact that this newer model is "better" then the other (rail, ambi mag release) and the price increase is expected. Even guns are like this. Gen2 sub2000 cost more then the gen1 when it came out.

Over time? From 2014 to mid 2016 they went up in price, then quite recently they dropped, Most likely in anticipation of the gen2 coming.(that's speculative of course)

Looks like a ripped off version of T97.ca's hard work, nothing else looks different, I'd rather give my money to the Canadian company any day, why they didn't just get the upper and lower from them is beyond me. I'm sure if some leverage was applied you could get unfurshed receivers from norinco, add the Canadian parts when they got here and actually have something great out of the box. But thats just my uninformed opinion.

Yeah, these should go down in price eventually. Like the beginning of a negotiation at a garage sale: "Yeah, I want $100 for this candy dish." This is still Norinco, bullpup or not. If the Chinese manufacturers can't compete on price, they're not going to win over hearts with "build quality."

They really should have put the magazine release and safety in better positions on the gen 2. And if they didn't fix the feed ramp on this, then it's a completely missed opportunity.

Of course they'll drop in price. When more dealers have them, there will be competition to drive down prices. I doubt they'll get under $1000 though. The gen1's were selling at $1049 before prices got slashed in recent months, and I see no reason for these to sell for less than the Gen1's were.

I agree with you, they really dropped the ball on this, and gen2 should have had more updates than just a rail. Mag release is bad (at least they made it ambi?), but the safety is the real issue IMO. I can't think of a gun with a worse location for the safety than these things.

Let's face the fact: If they do everything right in the first place, the dearly CFO will most likely Prohib it. Think about the Beretta Storm and Mini14 are pretty much at the same price level of t97, i bet most of the black rifle lovers will not touch or keep them. It's clear that CFO does not want most of the us to have affordable, NR, do everything right, SEMI, 223/556 rifle that using AR mag.

P/S: I sold tarvor and keeping Gen1 T97 for better trigger, better value and better accuracy with my reloads.
