M305 aftermarket muzzle brake

I don't know if this is the right place to post this but here I go.

Has anyone tried the "new" Matador m305 hammerhead muzzle brake? Any good? Recoil reduction by ??%??
Or the Norinco M305 H-D Tactical Muzzle Brake “Smith Style” from black rose tactical? Same questions.

I put a Matador Hammerhead on my DA SOCOM18...nice unit, well finished, went on perfectly. Shooting results: I only did a little shooting with it [busy range, lack of time] but I fired it side-by-side with my other M-305 with the standard flash hider on it. Firing it on the bench with a rest, I didn't notice a lot of recoil reduction. It wasn't until I stood up and fired it offhand did there did seem to less recoil and muzzle jump. How much? That's hard to say, and will require more shooting. In general I find the M-305 to be a fairly soft-shooting rifle in its standard form. A real test of these muzzle brakes would be to put them on a .300 rem Mag or similar. For $60 from Col Mustard, I would say the Hammerhead was worth it just for the look of it.
 
Awesome!!! Thx for the reply! Yeah 60$ for a brake is pretty cheap! I was just wondering if it would be better than the brake i have on now. I have no idea what kind of brake it is. Bought the rifle like this from a friend. Anyone have an idea what this is?

M14's are so soft shooting, a brake is mostly cosmetic. I put a Springfield on mine to make it more of a Norkfield looking affair. Dunno if it does anything effective. I don't think the OEM flash hider does anything either on a 22" barrel.
 
First time shooting an m14 was this one and it was pretty soft so i thought it was the brake lol so are you saying i shouldn't put a different brake on it? It wont change anything? I was thinking of cutting the barrel to 18.6 and put a VG6 gamma 762 on it. My buddy has the the 5.56 version on his ar15 and it felt like i was shooting a 22lr. Will it shoot any smoother on the m14?
 
That brake you have on there looks homemade to me, or Airsoft possibly....not sure. Check if it's made out of Aluminum, if it is, ditch it fast as it will come apart at some point possibly injuring someone.

.223 in an AR platform is like shooting a .22 even with no break. Shooting a C7 full auto was very disappointing.

Definitely not airsoft or aluminum! Maybe homemade i don't know. Looks a lot like the Shrewd muzzle brake from
Brownells.

What exercise allowed you to shoot 2 mags full auto live rounds and not getting chewed apart by an OCT or your CoC?????????? If its blanks than you can't compare it to live rounds. Blanks have no recoil

Is that muzzle device in the picture two piece? It might thread off from the adopter. and it would be 5/8x24. It would open up the door for a lot of other devices.

It is 2 piece but I don't know if the thread is 5/8x24. Is there a way of finding the thread without the tools? Or should i just buy a muzzle with 5/8x24 and cross my fingers

Remove the muzzle device from the threads grab a 5/8 wrench and slip it over it should fit snug then count how many threads you have per inch. Hope that helps
