Exactly, same with the SKS , Russian rifles seem to work/be great until people start messing with them lol.
who would wast their money in such a contraption ,the russians used this rifle in many theaters of war and with only 5 rounds and now as a range plinker, someone decided it needed a 10 round mag.Use stripper clips enjoy the rifle as it is, dont waste you money on those so called improvements ,just my two cents worth lol

It's a bolt action, it can have as many rounds as you can fit in the magazine. Semi auto is limited to 5 rounds unless you get into the pistol mag realm of things. Look at the Lee enfield, 10 round mag, bolt action. Nr and legal.
I thought all center fire rifles were limited to 5 rounds except for the lee enfield and m1 garand which from what I was told were exempt due to the name ? I did know about the pistol mag loophole of things, still want to get one of those ten rounders for my Robinson

What about lever action rifles? Most of them, particularly the older ones had way more than 5 rounds in the mag and they did not have any problem with the law.
Also M1917 Enfield's and Swiss K31's hold 6 rounds in their mags too.

If it's not semi auto or using a semi auto rifle mag, load and shoot however much it will hold, whether it's a tube mag or box mag. If it's semi auto you shoot 5 rounds or find a compatible pistol mag or mag that's originally designed for another firearm that's not a semi.
Lever action will be no different than a pump action, does a pump action shotgun outside of hunting with shot get limited to only 5 rounds? No it does not, fill yer boots or mag in this case.
