34mm scope rings seem to be relatively rare. WHat are the options in this size? Everything I find is 250$+ except the alberta tactical rings at 210$. Is that standard price for this size?

Your biggest issue will be when you need to find extra low rings. Most 34mm start at medium. X-Reload stocks the Ken Farrell's. Mystic Precision can get you some 34mm Burris Signature XTR and others. Vortex and Nightforce in 34mm can be had from many site sponsors. Yes $200 seems to be a relative minimum, except for the Leupold PRW previously mentioned.

Nightforce XTRM rings can be had for $220-$250 if you find the right retailer. That's just the price of quality. I'd way rather spend $250 on a set of rings that I don't have to worry about.

For what gun? Talley makes ultra light rings in 34mm for Remington actions, and I machined a set down and drilled a new hole to mount a 4-24 vx6 on a buddies tikka superlight. If you don't need a canted rail, I'm not sure there is anything cheaper or lighter.

I have some ATRS 34mm rings. Great quality. I recently purchased some Burris XTR Signature rings from Jerry at Mystic Precision to maximize my scope cant. I like the idea of the inserts too to eliminate the possibility of leaving ring marks on my expensive optics. I have never associated the Burris name with quality, I'm told that's probably due to my age, but I was impressed with these rings. They come in 1" and 1.5" ring heights.

I am currently using the Burris XTR Signature 34mm rings and they are wonderful.

Very well priced given all the utility offered (well under $200)

EGW rings are another option as they are the OEM manf for some big name products... but then costs go up.

I have used the Leupold Mk4 steel rings. They weight a ton but can likely be used to lift a F150 truck

Farrell Steel rings will be of similar grossly overbuilt strength. all of the above are possible.. pm or email

Decide on the scope and how much it weights, the rifle chambering and how much force it is going to apply to the scope, the rail so that A doesn't separate from B, finally height...

It is a good thing that there are no "cheap" 34mm rings given that pretty much every 34mm scope is big and heavy.

YMMV.
