OK, so I`m going to need one of those full rail systems for my Russian SKS, and noticed that there are 3 makes.

Magwedge ,Wartac and Matador seem to be the same basic rail system, is this correct.I see one of the site sponsors (Colonel Mustard has the Matador version on sale for $ 89.95)

So basically, is the Matador version good to go ?

Thankyou for your input.

If you load with stripper clips you may want the magwedge, if you use mags they will all work. I suggest you get the quick pin for it though, makes life much easier.

We are the original makers of this system if that matters at all to you.

If you are about to purchase an SKS rail system I would suggest you hold off for the time being, there is some important news ahead.

Can't speak on the other two but any dealing I've had with magwedge has been excellent, they're the only ones I'd buy a rail from out of the three. Great company with great customer service.

One thing to mention. Check if there is a pin through the front sight hole. That pin will be a pain in back.
Second, buy a spire screw through your dust cover that comes with rail. The screw is made of Some metal which is too soft for your Allen key.

I have a Matador rail, but I miss being able to load with stripper clips. Also, it would have been easy for them to work in a rear peep sight [like the XS system for the Ruger Scout] but...they didn't.

I was thinking , even if you could use strippers ,would the optics not interfere with loading strippers ?Of course it would depend on the optics used on the rail (thinking fixed and not red dot)

A short scope will work just fine too.

I think Corwin has some compact optics that will work well with our gen3 rail.

Also the gen 3 allows you to switch back and forth from red dot/short scope to a larger scope, especially if you also pick up the insert rail to protect a scope that sits above the ejection area.

OK ,I was on your site and saw your new rail for the SKS made for strippers (is that what you were referring to ?) although I see it`s not in production.

I`ll probably just go for your original rail and some extra hardware.

I like the idea of supporting Canadian manufacs and CGN sponsors !!!!!

Will place an order next week.

Cheers

Gen 3 rail that allows stripper clips is in production and we have inventory to sell.

That being said we will have an announcement on Monday, so best to wait for that before making a final decision.
