We need to support Maxime Bernier

Maxime definitely to have the best grasp of issues relating to firearms ownership of all the candidates, and has some pretty clear policies on that front.

Eliminating magazine restrictions, compensating firearms owners for confiscated property, and increasing access to the course are the ones that stand out the best. 10 year licenses are nice, but meh. Life time, or not at all would be better.

But I would love to see him push just a little bit further. I hope to see him or some of his people at Ottawa debate later this month.

Specifically, I intend to ask them to reconsider their policy regarding classification. The simplified classification system is idiotic.
Why do many people, Maxime included, claim that "Firearms should be classified based on their function, not on their appearance." and then go on to propose classification based on barrel length, as though that some how affects function.

He has my vote.

Oleary is a coward, he talk big to defend us gun nuts and the first sign of trouble, throw us under the bus.

Maxime IS THE ONLY CHOICE

It's nice seeing businesses stick their necks out to promote positive change in government. Too many have been silent on here over the past several months. I'm reading over Bernier's platform and will be picking between him and O'Toole. Unfortunately O'Leary has next to no honour and doesn't care about his word or integrity so as much as I think he'd be great for the economy, I'm not a one-issue voter.

It appears to me that there is not a standout conservative candidate in the pack. Some have a few conservative platforms but most if not all have liberal-socialist weak spots. Like supply management, corporate subsidies, etc
Bernier has some good ideas but electing a conservative leader from Quebecistan carries too much baggage. Max's problem is that we could not get him to end the Bilingual Commission and all the French crap taxpayers in the non-Quebec provinces must shoulder. We could not rely on him to end all Quebeckistan corporate welfare. Harper proved that a conservative government can obtain majority power without Quebeckistan.
Harper had 6 years in majority government to fix our problems, especially regarding firearms. He blew it and then lost.

There is so much wrong with this. First, a truly conservative platform would doom the party. Ultra conservative just doesn't win many votes in this country, and to be any use to anyone, he needs to be able to win a majority. Second, you can't just end concessions to Quebec (or whatever you want to call them) as a lot of the underlying legislation would require agreement from all 10 provinces as well, and guess who'll never sign on to something like that...

If you expect to find a BETTER candidate, who specifically has very generous views on gun ownership/control (Because thats what really matters here, it is a gun forum after all) then please, tell us who's the best chance at winning an election. Because if they can't win an election then their are as useless to us as Jack Layton was to the NDP last election.

Oh really, so you think carbon credits is not a globalist agenda tied into UN agenda 21 and sustainable development?

What about agenda 2030 with the full support of the Pope?

I guess you feel major corporations are not globalists, so how are all our jobs leaving this country and setting up shop elsewhere?

Isn't it time for your afternoon nap?

Last time I checked, job numbers weren't going down in this country. You need to lay off the....... Whatever the #### trump supporters are huffing, because you sound as stupid as one of them. Next up, alternative facts, and some #####ing about voter fraud...

I will vote for the PC candidate that has the best chance of winning election - not sure who that is?

Maxime Bernier. He has the already has the broadest support in the party geographically and he can win Quebec.

If Kevin O'Leary wins the CPC leadership you can forget about a Conservative government for the next few years.

Maxime is two faced, he said he wants to get rid of equalization payments - a MP from Quebec says he wants to get rid equalization.

He wants your money - don't waste it on him.

Max's policy on equalization is the freeze it at current funding levels and then re-assess the formula to ensure it doesn't cause provincial dependency.

Is it so odd that a politician would recognize that equalization could do more harm than good to his own province?

Job numbers aren't going down? Full time positions being replaced with part time service and temp work. Also the main #####ing about voter fraud was done by the Democrats after Trump won.

I was referring to his Facebook posts about it being unfair to the West.

His posts on Corporate Welfare and equalization are so hypocritical - he is trashing the Liberals for supporting Bombardier and his govt bailed out the auto sector.

This man lies and will say anything to get your money and vote.

The best Conservative MP running is Michael Chong - too bad he isn't going to win.

I can't believe I haven't looked into Maxime's platform yet. I've always been a staunch libertarian and had to live with the fact that my preferred party can't seem to pull it together. Maxime's platform is quite amazing. He had me at "decentralizing and shrinking government"

This is the first candidate I've seen put words around shrinking government.

He wasn't running the party then.

Bernier would be an excellent choice.

He has my vote. Hope he can beat out O'Leary though.. name recognition is huge in this race.
