Looking for a good drop in trigger, have read about the Shooting Sight. Wanted to find out if anyone has used it or any other triggers and what their experience has been. Thanks for any help. This is going in my Norinco M305

I've never really had any complaints about the norc trigger.
But then I've never shot a Springfield either. If you do some polishing they can be pretty decent. In all honesty if you want it to drive tacs, the trigger is probably one of the last things I would upgrade.

I posted some fantastic info on triggers and trigger jobs over the years and sadly, none of it was put in the stickies.
Best aftermarket trigger pack and really the only one I'd look at is the Smith Enterprise offerings. Tough to get for reasonable money in canada though.
Reality is, a very good trigger group, properly set up by a skilled "M14" smith is going to cost you...... BIG.
I used to have a dozen or more M14 trigger groups on my bench every month for several years and for the most part, the chinese triggers aren't bad but when they are, they suck LOL
There is a mountain of very bad info posted online about methods to modify the M14 trigger group. Personally it is my strong belief that anyone attempting "at home" modifications to any manufacture of M14 trigger group to have a copy of Jerry Kunhaussen's 30 cal service rifle shop manual at thier finger tips and follow the instructions and warnings to the letter.

Could you please link your post about trigger modification?

not sure i could find it myself and I've since removed all the pics that went with that thread so unfortunately.... it's probably a pointless exercise.
my best and only advice here is to source the jerry kunhaussen shop manual and accept no substitute.
I know most folks will think I make too much of these things but there are some things to consider before anyone brushes off my warnings.
There are 2 built in safety features that are essential to the safe operation of these rifles. .308 is a large enough bang to do some serious damage to the shooter.
The receiver safety bridge/firing pin is one such safety feature.
The other is the way the trigger group is designed. These features are critical to the safe operation of the rifle and without a clear understanding of what one is doing, polishing and adjusting things is dangerous.
It's quite simple to perform parts swaps by the average handy gun owner , but modifying to improve the function of those parts is another matter.
simple..... get the jerry kunhaussen manual and it's all in there in explicit detail.

edit... :D .... i should also tell you guys with trigger woes who can't do the "smithing" kinda stuff to get ahold of m14medic.ca and also casey at tac ord is well known for his m14 type work among other platforms.

I bought a shooting sight adjustable trigger, it installed easily in my M305 trigger group. Second stage was 2 lbs 4 ounces, 3 lbs and 14 ounces released the hammer, it is so clean and crisp. The skeltonized hammer would not fit with my trigger group without work, probably because of it being Chinese not USGI, but it sure is not necessary to have a fantastic trigger. Nice thing is Art ships to Canada and answers emails right away and was truly helpful.

Both of my trigger groups are HR, and they are silky smooth. One, admittedly, was reworked by 45ACPKING (aka M14doctor), but the other one is stock, and is also nice and smooth, I just love them.

How much was the shooting sight?

175.00 US, nice thing about this trigger you can adjust the trigger pull to how you like it with an allen key, don't have to take it in for someone to rework it.

I just ordered the M1A Ebr trigger/hammer kit yesterday. This thread is really convenient timing. I can confirm that he ships triggers and trigger/hammer kits to Canada.

Great find! I will probably buy one of those trigger wen I get more funds for my socom 18. The trigger is the only aspect of my norc I don't like and it's bugging me.

Just re-tested the trigger weight after firing about 50 rounds thru the rifle and it test at 3lbs 2 ounces. Trigger is extremely nice, as nice or better than the Timneys in my AR's
