Explain the H&K G28E to me

The difference is easy. Normal people buy normal guns. A sucker believes the hype and pays $28 grand. There's a sucker born every minute, but you have a gun more expensive than anyone else.

Its a collector gun. Rare. Not availble to civilians. But that might change in the future with HK. Mr308 A3 is close to it though.

In what regard?

Well, you can put stuff in both $5 Sobeys shopping bag and $5000 Gucci bag, so function wise both bag are the same.

But a Gucci bag has much better build quality, better design, premium leather texture, 100% handmade and very rare compare to 5$ shopping bag.

But in the end both are still just bags....(Warning: don't tell your gf/wife this truth)

H&K G28 is basically a premium Gucci bag in gun world.

Durability is part of function. A purse generally will also have multiple compartments and is less likely to roll over amd/or spill its contents during transport.

They're intended for the same general task but both function very differently.

Well, you get the idea. G28 is just a premium 308 AR with many tiny improvements, but with a huge expensive price tag that are way over the actual production value.

Please people......the price simply reflects that it is a one of a kind in Canada collector gun, the real deal with the proper markings. For those who have the cash and collect it is much different than a MR308. Is performance that much better? debatable, not much likely....but it is a real G28 and not a civilian MR308 product. We are talking collectors with cash, not average shooters. That's all,

Rich

Here, here...it's unreal the amount of moaning that goes on this site about what others are buying or selling. I can't afford the thing but if money was no object I probably would consider it...the real deal...why not? By the way, when I showed the wife the part about the $16k handbag...her eyes got very wide, "very nice" is what I heard...

The US is paying 12Gs each for theirs to replace the Knights M110.
Looking at HK stock the 52 week low was 15 Euro, today its 115. All these new contracts are literally paying dividends.

Best explanation I've heard and makes perfect sense to me. Personally I like that it comes in at 28k suddenly what I thought was unreasonable to spend on the MR308 seems more acceptable. Won't even bother to mention the paltry 12-1300 I have into my CC.

If I have 30 million net asset I will buy it and have it in my personal collection. It is a piece of History. Based on the German army size, the order most likely in the neighbourhood of 200 to 300, and I don't think the total number ever produced in this exact G28 configuration will be north of 1000 when the G28 retires in 15 years. There will be some purchased by police, but not in this german army configuration.
