I'm looking for some aftermarket grips to replace the wooden ones that came with my S&W 686 (round butt model). Any suggestions for grips and Canadian retailers that sell them?

Thanks,

Mik

My 627 came with wooden and rubber grips. I think they are made by Hogue and are super comfy compared to the wooden ones.

I've seen the rubber grips at Ellwood but I'm sure you can find them online as well.

You don't say what kind of grips you want? Rubber, wood, G10, something else? Finger groove, smooth, checkered, stippled? Hogue rubber finger groove grips should be in stock at many local gun stores in Kanada. I have bought custom wood grips direct from Hogue for a great price. If you call them and order the shipping is cheap, not like the calculator on the site. I would recommend VZ grips for G10, lots of choices for wood grips depending on what you want.

I find Hogue rubber grips are the smallest. Hogue wood grips are fuller and probably my favourite wood grips. For a recoil absorbing rubber grip, comfortable for high volume shooting, hard to beat Pachmayrs, I just find them a little homely.

Sorry gents, I'm looking for rubber grips. I already have a nice set of stock laminate grips.

In that case Hogue grips are good and should be in stock in numerous locations and Pachmayr are also good, also available from many places. I use the Hogue rubber finger groove rubber grips on my S&W Mod.66 and they are excellent for my smallish hands.

I have to agree with the Houges. I went with them on my 686P. They look good (to me) and they're comfortable and fit smaller hands well.

Good morning,
I carried on duty a S&W model 10; tried the Hogue Monogrip and the Pachmayr.
Pachmayr hands down on my issue revolver and also my PPC piece.
Positive grip even on hot/wet days, good shock absorber.

Thanks all the suggestions guys. I got a set of pachmayr grips from brownells. I wanted a no finger groove model since I'm not sure if the grooves will fit me. I also found a no groove Hogue model but I can't find it on brownells or in Canada.
