Non-restricted DA50s are here!

I know nothing about 50 BMG but would a 26" barrel be long enough to burn all that Motion lotion inside the huge case?
Great to see Canam bringing in great products at great prices, and never asking for money up front, good on ya Canam!

The following contains some general guidelines to determine the effect of barrel length on range and bullet speed. Ammunition, especially surplus military, varies widely in performance. We based the following on a 700 grain US military round.

26" 2461 2551
32" 2710 2719

So, 2506 average for 26 and 2714 for 32" looks like a nice jump in fps for the longer barrel at least with that ammo, if I get a chance to buy one of these it will be the 32", if accuracy is similar!

26" vs 32"?
found this info from another site, thoughts?

"Also the optimum barrel for the 50 is 29 inches, according to government reports, the 50's powder is consumed between 28 and 29 inches. "

"Any barrel length less than 26" is unproductive. Standard .50 ammo needs the 26" tube to burn all the powder. Anything less will give a pretty good muzzle flash.
29-30" is optimal. "

"The 29 inch barrel is very popular for reasons of accuracy. I got the 22 on mine because it is less heavy and easier to transport. If I was going just for accuracy I would have gotten the 29 inch one on mine."

Good job on bringing out new options Canada Ammo. I bought one of the earlier non restricted ones. Great that you've brought the price down and made for less of a headache.

Argh.....I have an atrs lower....but I haven't worked since October. I want a 26" upper.

Thanks Canada ammo!
Boyos, note it is non restricted, you don't need a range. Play safe tho, that's a lot of metal moving in a hurry for a long way...
Second, buddies got a 7mm rum, pays upwards of $80 for 20. It's a cannon to be sure, but that works to $4 a pop. Personally if you want to impress the girls, a 50 in 32" is your better bet at $5 and change per boom. Not something most plan on hunting with but I'm pretty stocked for beaver season!
Thanks again Canada ammo, you guys and gals are the best!
