I have a uncle passing a way of cancer and don't think he will be in this world long so I had to pass on the 375 ruger
He gave me his 300 wm and that is going to be my main hunting rifle
Each time I use his rifle Wil bring up memory's of getting up at 4:30 drinking coffee with my uncles and grandfather

Yay! I'm part of a group! Seriously though, this group made me want a .375 H&H and most of you posted on my thread to help me choose which was great. Now spring bear can't some soon enough!

Sorry to hear..... 300 wm is a fine cartridge...... and it's nice to know that he had the pleasure of passing it on while still with us.....

Curiosity piqued, what / where do you guide? Use my .375s likewise.

Haven't been in this thread in a while. I guide moose & black bear in northern Alberta. It's been a few years since I've done it though. Use to use an old tikka m65 or a 45-70. The 375 is handy and 250 TTSXs @ 2900 have plenty of oomph with out the mortar like trajectory of the 45-70.

I have 4 375 cal rifles/carbines definitely my favourite cal.

21" barreled shortened from 26" Rem 700 LSS (stainless black/grey laminate) in 375RUM
22" barreled shortened from 28" T/C Prohunter stainless/fluted Boyds black/grey laminate stock in 375H&H
21" barreled stainless T/C Contender carbine Boyds fore end GunStockInc butt stock in black/grey laminate rechambered from 375Win to 375JDJ by SSK Ind
14" barreled stainless T/C Contender carbine Boyds black/grey laminate stock set in 375JDJ barrel was made by SSK Ind.

I'd like to give a 375 Styer, 375CT and/or a 375WSM at try.

I started working with him wen I was 8 years old fishing herring on the weascoast we built boats together drank and hunted together
Evan started the odd Bar brawl in the good old smash and bash fishing heyday
He not going to make the week I'm flying out Saturday
The rifle means the world to me and is priceless

Good stuff, cumulatively spent over five years in High Level, Grande Cache, and Whitecourt. Preferred Grande Cache on the hunting side but High Level had its interesting points.

Here's my current Brno 602 in .375 Ultra. This is the economy version of my first .375 Ultra, utilizing the factory barrel cut to 22", NECG sights front and rear, knuckle deflector, and the McMillan Express stock.

The .375 Ultra has, to my way of thinking, the optimum powder capacity for a .375 bore rifle, a bit more than an H&H or the Ruger, and a bit less than a .378 Weatherby. The Brno's drop belly magazine makes it a 5 shooter, whereas the modern competition are 3 shooters. You might ask if that makes a difference; it does give me a warm fuzzy feeling when I find myself in close cover with one of these guys . . .
