New NF ATACR 7-35x56 F1 Mil-R - pics at #6

Any updates.

Actually place order for RazorII but company had credit card processing issue. Day later after bit more reading decided I like the 32x on my Sightron so 35x gonna be better :) YOLO, BOCO.
I hear you - I was going to get another Razor Gen II but was sold on the 35x. So, YOLO Mr. Sharp, YOLO :)

Looked at one of these at the Finale. They also had a 5-25x with the new MIL-C reticle, which was pretty nice. The MIL-R reticle was the only thing holding back the F1 ATACR scopes from taking off like the Razon II. I could live with the MIL-C, but it could be better. Lots of guys there were telling them that if they added xmas tree features to the MIL-C and ditched the worthless upside-down 'T' thing, they would have a real winner.

This !!

Though, having said that the Mil-R is now (with three weeks shooting done with it) growing on me and sxs with the EBR 2C becoming less annoying. Review nearly finished. Not allowed to put link here anymore but if time allows I may have to re-format etc and post in entirety

No HOT LINK or no link at all. Have to google the link and review. thanks again.

I don't think I am allowed to make any reference to it - the admins have a rule that we can't use this site to promote other sites which makes sense when you think about it as many sites are commercial ventures. My site is, of course, just a place to keep my scibblings and ramblings organised in one place :)

See the review is up dated March 4, 2017. Luv the part about NOT being a ‘threepee buyer’. Thank goodness Vortex value Can LE differently than US LE otherwise we wouldn't get a review :)

35x for the tired old eye; I like BIG fonts and I cannot lie.
Forget spinal tap 11, NF goes to 12, perfect for the MOA, Imperial 12in to a foot folks.
Even for the YOLO/BOCO crowds be prepared for the NF 35x sticker shock, found only one CAN site with in stock price of a thousand more than Razor II.

Here is the non hot link. Have seen PRS blog links posted so expect this link is similarly allowed. Mods Please delete link if not allowed.

Pleased you like it - damn tough call to make as to which is the best

In a couple / three weeks I will be able to add a review / opinion of the Khales 624i. I have nearly finished my glass upgrades and have one scope left to buy but, even after I list and sell my last Siii and my last NF NXS, I will still be broke and, anyway, I really can't choose! I will say that the Khales 624i has the cat's posterior of a reticle; the SKMR3 which so far is the only one that I actually prefer over my previous favorite which was the EBR2C.

Yeah, saw the 624i at the end of the review. Looking fwd to that review. Too many options, not enough funds :)

PS. when quoting be sure to not delete the [/QUOTE] at the end.
HTML fun.

From the pic of the 624i notice the windage turret is on the left side. Thought that's smart, no need to worry about CCW vs CW, both the same. CCW is turn left which on left side rotates turret outwards to the left (CW moves right), perfect.

Notice the pic shows CCW is R. So they use a left hand thread, like a bicycle crank (ie left is LHT, right side is RHT).

Still at the 'glassing' stage but I'm really liking this scope so far. Have mounted it (using 34mm NF rings) on my PGW Coyote and will put a few rounds down range this weekend !

commonality...if that's a real word

Your reports have been most informative to me.I was wondering about the issue of having multiple high quality scopes for similar type rifles. I decided after much thought that getting more than one $3000+ scopes I should get SCOPES with same operating function, one less thing to remember when 'm adjusting scope in the field, ie. elevation/windage/Parallax all same place.

What's your thoughts on this?

Well Mr. Bear at first blush you do make a very good point but other than my Khales 624i which has left windage and focus under elevation turret all other scopes are configured pretty much the same with elevation/windage/parallax in the places you would expect to find them. I bought the Khales for three reasons: SKMR3 reticle, to try the idea of left-hand windage and ego ( I wanted to have at least one each of the top three LOL) and so far I am not disappointed but I can see how possibly - in a rush - one could forget that the windage is where the parallax is and inadvertently dial in some wind allowance.......maybe ..... but, really, I see this as an overblown concern and one that a person who develops familiarity with ones equipment isn't going to make.

For me, the opportunity to own a selection of scopes has really given me a sense of what I am looking for and what works for me - of course your needs may well be different. I also find that it takes a couple of weeks to really assess a scope; an example - when I first got the Razor II I was really impressed with locking turrets but now find them marginally annoying and also they are a pain to use in sub-sub temps ( i.e. below about -15 ) as they get sticky so I leave them open. Lesson ? I paid for a feature I neither need nor, upon reflection, really like. Would it stop me getting another Razor II ? Of course not but that feature is no longer a 'selling feature' for me whereas the EBR 2C - which was nice when I first used it - is now gone up to the 'freaking awesome' category of features.

Not sure if this helps but it adds to my post count anyway :)

Is the 624i windage turret CCW right?
So CCW the turret goes inwards, to the right (Left hand thread)?
If so would find that confusing as I'm used to everything being right hand thread. Expect CCW with left hand to back out a screw, not tighten it.

Don't have to worry much about -15° in the Wet Coast; nor ranges longer than 300m.

+1 on post count; Let's be honest, your credibility comes mainly from your decent post count. :)

Thanks for the replys guys!

Thanks for the reply. As a real nut I typically take 5 or 6 rifles to the range as it's an hour each way driving, an hour packing/unpacking truck.I shoot the precision rifles for awhile then play with the others to let barrels cool, then back to the fancy ones, so a mental lapse can occur (when you get 20 years older you'll understand):) when I go from one make of scope to another. I take a bunch of rifles because I tend to spend the whole day at the range so I want to make it worth the trouble.

As for Wet coast shooting, a few weeks ago there was almost a foot of snow and it was -6 degrees at my club's 600yd range.Marvelous day at the range as I had it completely to myself.I live on that big island on the west coast of Canada.

I really like my Kahles K624i and my logic was a good enough excuse for me to buy another. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.:d

I get it - until moving out of the city my range days really did resemble yours. Now I shoot undisturbed on my own land and so if I have a mental lapse know one knows or cares. Besides, I'm nearer to 60 than 50 and so I expect such things - bit like walking into a room and wondering "WTF am I doing in here ?"
