Well I traded my ar15. And said I would never build another one since there restricted and can't shoot outside the range.

Then 1 day later I bought a brand new armalite bcg on discount lol. Guess now I'm looking to slowly build one starting with a stripped upper. So what do you guys recommend and why? I was looking online bUT I don't trust some one the sites. They rate aero precision uppers pretty high? Thought maybe a vltor mur upper? Looking for something differnt and by the way I'm left handed. Also heard mega arms . And rainier has the tightest tolerance but can't find solid info to back anything I read. So I'm gonna go off real hands on experience from real gun nutz !

Thank you all in advance for your time and ratings! Cheers!

It all depends on what you want out of the rifle. If it's just to have an AR, you don't really need to go super high end... if you're going high-speed, low-drag, I'd lean towards a F1 skeletonized upper and lower.

I guess it all comes down to budget.

Have some fun with it and build a retro clone.

Or make a sooper high speed ninja seal gun....

Or go as light weight as you can...

Or build an abnoxiously loud pistol...

Aside from uppers that are built dimensionally different, they are all the same.
Aside from doing an ultralight build, there's nothing to be gained between a milspec upper and one of these Gucci uppers that have funky geometry. If all you want is a milspec upper, there is literally zero difference between spikes tactical, BCM, noveske, rainier Arms, Colt USA etc etc.
Speaking from experience as I have uppers from all those listed.

The only reason I buy certain brands is because they're companies that I like and respect as businesses.
Hell the only reason I bought a noveske rifle was because I read a few articles about Johmny Noveske and thought he was a pretty awesome guy, so #### it let's build something out of a noveske.

I'm planning my next upper to be a 7.5 inch barrel. I hope you don't shoot at Stittsville, lol.

If you're going with a milspec forged upper lower there is no difference other than the brand name on the side there is only three or four different forges that make them and then they are sent out to the different companies for branding and finishing.
If you want CNC or something fancy then your budget is your only limit. There are some really cool parts out there but not many retailers in Canada carry the really nice stuff. You may have to find what you want online then have it imported.

What do you mean by something fancy? Like a billet?

Not really aNY budget I'm gonna check out the left frenzy stag. I just want to take my time and build something amazing maybe do some 3gun matchest or something eventually. Slowly getting into ipsc first. No rush to get my parts I just love buidling them

i repeat
vltor upper + noveske barrel
armtac right here in bc, they sell the best of the best
cant go wrong
im not sure why you're not listening, but whatever, im done here

This is just one example, there are other companies out there that do similar things to go lightweight

Ha ha ha... I do... Can I shoot it?

Of course! I always offer to let anyone who looks interested shoot my stuff, and for some reason I want a 300blk upper. That project will have to stay in the planning stages for a little while though as I'm going to have to fork out for my membership.

To be honest I'm probably too generous when it comes to sharing my guns. I'm way upside down on ammo cost at this point, lol.

Could anyone tell me who carries these left handed uppers in Canada? Is it possible to order them through Irunguns or is there a CGN sponsor who sell them?

Arms east does all things Stag, but I don't know if they strictly sell stripped uppers, or even complete uppers. Check them out.
