I went to a range today with 100% intention of renting an HK SFP9 to try it out, but unfortunately it was not available. I ended up settling for a 5" version PPQ, and was not disappointed. I was totally blown away by how comfortable that gun was to shoot. My only gripe is that I still think it looks like a hi point.

I think if I were to get a couple beer deep one night while browsing pistols, I could end up owning one. What's the aftermarket like for these things? Any known issues?
 
Owning the 5" 22lr, 5" M2B, and Q5 I can honestly say that I have not had a single malfunction with either of the 9mm versions I have across 2000 rounds between the two. Of the 2400 rounds I've had down the 22lr I've only had 3 or 4 misfires and I'm pretty sure it's ammo related and I have yet to read any issue about these that spans more than the single unit.

Aftermarket support is where it kind if falls down. Someone might be able to correct me on this but Dawson is really the only reliable source for sights (I forgot about a couple listed below). Solely Canadian is the best source for a holster (I have one) as blade tech might make one for the 5" but never seen one in person. Also I have yet to see any replacement barrels or other parts either online or in store in Canada. It's definitely no glock or M&P in that department but makes up for it once you get it on the range, though I might have a bit of bias on that :p

Meprolight and trijicon sights are readily available. You can get pinned mags from IRUNGUNS.

I got a 106mm ppq barrel from Jarvis.

Truglo also makes nice sights for PPQ....................

Right, forgot about the trijicons and truglo. I stand corrected, just stupid hard to find in stores in Metro Van when I was looking around near Black Friday. Also, there must have been a recent shipment of Mags into Canada as I'm seeing a few pop up here and there for $85/each. The Canik TP9SA Mags fit as well and are quite a bit less, but they stick out the bottom of the grip by a couple inches. They will work but don't look the best.

IRG is probably the best for factory pinned Mags at the lowest price.
 
The aftermarket isn't the best, but it isn't great for Ferrari, either.

If you want a Honda Civic with aftermarket support, get a Glock.

If you want the best gun as it comes, that doesn't require anything, get the PPQ (specifically the M2 Navy).
 
Very, very accurate. Great comparison was done on one of the forms between the HK SFP9 and the PPQ. Conclusion is that the PPQ has tighter tolerances, higher build quality, better trigger and more accurate.
I have the PPQ M2 5", it's very annoying as it shoots as good as my Sig X5's. You will not go wrong with one. I would be surprised if the new Sig P320 X series will shoot as accurate as the 5" PPQ.

I had to try out that PPQ trigger for myself so I picked one up from the Ammosource. Im not a fan of the Pinocchio look (thanks a lot firearms act) so I opted for the 5" variant. It came today and my initial thought upon unboxing was 'man, theh have got to make a 4.2" version for us. The grip really feels amazing like it was molded to my hand. I've noticed that the long 5" steel slide on a feather light polymer frame feels a bit mussel heavy. I'm curious to see if a loaded magazine will balance it out. Beautiful gun nevertheless.
 
I have the PPQ Navy M1 (hate the M2 with the unfortunate placement of the mag release), and I love it. I mean, I really, really, love this thing. Shoots like a dream. Not quite as balanced as my Glock 34, but fits nicer in my hand and has a great trigger. Get a PPQ...wont be disappointed.
