9.3x62 with IMR4350

I tried it with 286 Barnes TSX and could barely get 2000 fps, even using a highly compressed load meant for the older style X-Bullet. Then I went to RL15 with 286 Norma RN and got 2350. After that I never looked back and didn't use 4350 again.

I've got some loaded up with 414, full case, still need to run them over the chrony but I expect slightly higher velocity in my 26" barrel then the varget gave.

I'm relatively certain that our local 9.3X62 Guru (Why Not?...Ted) advised me that IMR 4895 gave good velocities and outstanding accuracy.........I do believe that's what I have been using.

Thanks for all your replies. I will probably give varget, 4895 and 4064 a try. Save my 4350 for my other calibers. I'm hoping to get 2300 fps or so with an accurate load. Not looking to hot rod it.
Sure wish Alliant powders were available I'm my area. Not worth it for me to pay shipping if other powders will get me to where I want.
Thanks again everyone

I've tried different powders for the 9.3, by far the best is RamShot Big Game, expect 2500+ ft/s, 286gr and 2660 ft/s with 250gr bullets with top loads out of a 22" bbl. (usually available at Nechako Outdoors in Vanderhoof). These aren't hot rod loads either.

H 4350 is too bulky, therefore you can not get enough in the case for meaningful velocities.
RL-17 is close to the 4350's but is more dense and gives good velocities.
Varget, H4895 and burning rates in that area will give you ~2400-2450 ft/s with a 286gr bullet.

thosr three ones will give you that in no time ....

Update:
Ordering a few pounds of RL-17 and try that too.
Maybe try some 250 gr woodleighs as well and see how they are.
Anyone have any experience with 250 gr woodleigh ppsn?
