Ok,
I just asked this question but apparently cgn crashed on me as well...

when I placed my order just now, all I got at the very end was a red, spinning wheel. Is it normal to have to force the browser closed?

I got the red spinning wheel as well. I closed the browser, and ordered again on a different computer. Both orders went through as later confirmed by email. I replied to the second confirmation email to cancel the duplicate order, the vendor responded immediately and corrected the issue...
