Glock 17 maintenance

So I've had my Glock 17 gen 4 for a few years now and fired somewhere between 5-7k rounds if I were to guess. Other than cleaning and lubrication do I need to do any other periodic maintenance? It's been absolutely flawless and shoots just as well now as the day I brought it home but at what point do things start to wear out?

Keep. Shooting it... Maybe a recoil spring down the road but I've got way more than that in my stock g17

ive had my Gen3 17C for years now, ill let ya know when something fails on it.

in all seriousness though this is what i have heard:

RSA every 5k
all other springs every 15k

Recoil Spring Assembly (RSA) replacement is 3000 rds for 3rd Gen and older guns (single spring setups) and 5000 rds for Gen4 guns (dual spring setup), or possibly sooner for harder recoiling cartridges

pretty cheap, $10 for Gen 3 and lower and $24 for Gen 4.

ive got 12K + in my gen 1 g17 had the recoil spring done a few years ago via recall other then that nothing still works 100%

Your rsa could last way longer but it's easier on all other parts.

I've had my G19 for 30 yrs. The only thing I replaced was the recoil spring assembly as the stock plastic one bent ( but was still shootable!) and the Trijicon sights as they dimmed. Glocks are freeking durable guns!

Thanks buddy! But Glocks don't break! LOL!

OP, there are multiple videos on Youtube on how to completely strip your Glock. Do it once in a long while and clean out the gunk that has built up, mostly lube and solvent, if you use them. You may have to replace your extractor and spring if your ejection pattern gets weird ( some people get hit in their face with spent cases!)
but, other than that, like Import says, shoot it!!

Glock 17 Gen4 has no removable recoil spring though it has the whole guide rod assembly which you can't easily take apart. So this means like some time in the future ( way down down the road) this whole thingy will need to get changed? Even so, oh well.. it is pretty cheap.
