Too good to be truth? Brand new Bushnell TRS-25 at $55 @ ebay.ca

I've just saw this posting in ebay.ca.

Is is described as a brand new Bushnell TRS-25

Searching in this and other forums I found some warnings about `white lettered` models, where the dot would disappear in the upper portion of the lens.
The ebay sale refers to model number 731303, and looking at the Bushnell website it kinda implies it is one of the models with gold letters (the number `731303` is under the model description and the picture of the red dot sight shows gold letters).

One thing that made me have some doubts it that the seller is new in Ebay: It only joined two days ago, has no references and has no other products to sale.

I decided to give it a shot anyway, and, worst case scenario, relay on the Money Back Guarantee of Ebay that applies to the situation of "Item wasn't as described".

Once I get it (in about 30 days.... I guess it's going to be shipped from China) I'll post an update here.

is eBay's money back good beyond 30 days?
 
From the document describing the terms of the guarantee:

A buyer must request a return no later than 30 days after the actual (or latest estimated) delivery date, or, if the seller's return window is longer, within the return window.
 
I just had a look at the ad as per the O.P.'s link.
Seller joined just recently and has 0 ratings.
Product description says that the item is in Mississauga Ontario.
Good luck.
 
Probably a knock off, but some of the knock offs aren't too bad. If you have realistic expectations.

Optics are the one category that I would shy away from when it comes to the Chinese replicas though...
 
Stay away! Every time I have seen a deal too good to be true from a seller with a 0 feedback , it IS too good to be true... I have got burned on a few things this year this way but thankfully (FRAUD ALERT) got me my money back!
 
I bought one of those cheap knockoffs for $20 just for sH$ts and giggles obvious knock off but it worked good enough for a .22 plinker at 50 yards you get what you pay for still works probably going to donate it for the grandsons nerf gun.
 
... and this is how the story ended.

The seller never sent the item.
It is no longer in ebay.
ebay refunded me the money.

I guess it was a clear too good to be truth case

Thank for the tread.

The Chinese will copy anything. When in China last year i bought a six pack of tsingtao beer. Which (in Canada) is a tasty premium beer. The stuff I bought in China tasted terrible. Our tour guide pointed out the label actually said tsingtao beer but that it was a fake tsingtao beer.
