Went to replace the Norc hider on my M305 with a USGI hider and for the life of me I could not find a suitable allen key (and I have a pile of those things) to fit that Norc screw. Very close, but not close enough
After much muttering and head scratching, I decided to put a dab of JB Weld on the best fitting allen key, jammed it in the screw, and let it set for 20min.
Worked like a charm. Screw started turning, and turned out enough to clear the castle nut. Man, I was smiling.
What surprised me was that the allen key could not be extracted from the set screw without applying some heat.
My rifle sure pings nice with that USGI hider installed.
Just thought I would share.
