Still waiting on scope and chassis to arrive (ordered, paid for, in process, Vortex Razor gen2 4.5x27 and MDT ESS)
And only had rings left to figure out.

I had spotted spuhr in the past, but refrained from buying due to high purchase price.
Now i just noticed, they have a built in cant bubble.

If i was to buy let's say 34mm ATRS rings, vortex 34mm lo pro bubble level, for another 100$ i get a spuhr mount.
Is it worth it? Should i keep initial setup i had in mind?

I noticed since it takes up all the space under the scope, i couldn't bolt an angle degree indicator on my rail.
And my rail might not be on same level as bore, so if i level scope using spuhr level, i might have a bit of bore cant when crosshairs are perfect level

If you plumb your reticle to the spur bubble, you'll be fine. There are some good articles over on Sniper's Hide about how it's more important to have your reticle plumb to your level than it is for the reticle to be perfectly plumb to the bore axis.

Looks more like a $200 difference to me. ($210 for ATRS rings, $80 for lo pro Vortex anti cant vs $485 for Spuhr)

If you're really worried about a ADI or ACI (most good LRFs will give you angle corrected distance anyways) there's an attachment for the Spuhr that mounts it to the side of the ring.

Personnally, I'd get some Badger rings (or unimount if ya like) and a nice anti cant like the Accuracy 1st one. You'll come in between your 2 options, price-wise

For me "personally" I went with the Spur rings for the "lighter" weight and quality. I don't use the bubble level in the rings as it's just too hard to see for me.

MDT will be releasing their new rings right away, they sport a nifty bubble level and I think they will be excellent. And if they are not shoot them an email. You will be blown away by their customer service. I was. Plus they are Canadian, keeping our money in our economy benefits us all!

I had pondered the same thing when I was shopping for 34 mm rings and ultimately went the ring route. For myself...saving weight on a gun that was 11 lbs is a moot point. The money I saved went towards a quality set of dies that will improve performance and save me money vs buying factory match ammo.

Cheers!!

The Sphur has that nifty 10° wedge to plumb the scope/reticle to the mount.

For cant mount need unimount, Spuhr is nice.
For two piece lots of cheaper option.

It's a .308, which i will want to try 1km some day, but realistically, i only have access to 700M right now.
So 20moa rail + 34mm tube elevation range of adjustment should get me far enough.

Once i know height, i might find a spuhr on EE i see xtra highs pop up from time to time as people trade for lower
I still need to see chassis first hand. I got a feeling my standard height atrs rail will be lower than top of non-railed handguard.
As MDT sells a jacked rail for the ESS, just like cadex has a jacked rail for their first strike
Add a 56mm objective to that, i definately won't be going low. Either high or xtra high

I use the level but I have to move my head to do it. Seemed a bit handier when I bought it. Still like the mount though.

I prefer mounts with some degree of cantilever in order to be able to mount the scope far enough forward on receivers that have integrated scope rails.

Using Badger Unimounts at the moment. Only complaint is that they don't make a ring cap with a picatinni rail for 34mm. The mount prevents data card holders from being used on the rail.

The bubble on the Sphur is too far back for me. Its just a blur unless I break my cheek weld.

Good stuff to know thanks
Not much badger unimounts at wolverine supplies would have to custom order

If going unimount I am considering clearing for a full rail setup, like this if I move to another platform later on I could just transfer full mount/scope setup, if this even makes any sense.

Tubbs has several videos on position shooting where he deliberately cants the rifle into a more ergonomic relationship to his body.

But the sights are adjusted to suit that rotation.

If the level in your mount is fixed, then you never have the option of going ergonomic.
