So I've read the SWAT article and here are just some "excerpts" the pistols ran 20,000 rds per gun for a total of 120,000rds with not stoppages or failures, even for Glock haters, that's hard to ignore. The internal springs, well at least some of them have a Nitrogen Doped Diamond-Like (NDLC) coating which means they are replaceable at 10,000rds.
A " Polygonal Hybrid" barrel means that agents can use lead bullets if they are out of CONUS. Trigger is set @ 4.75 to 5.0 lbs.

The article is called "FBI Issues New Pistol! - Glock 19M" by Bob Pilgrim. There are several excellent pictures of the FBI Glock 19M, which is the model being issued to agents, along with the new Glock magazines with the orange followers and extended base plates. There is much up to date information, including mention of the problems of a "mid-western police department" as we have all seen. The FBI has apparently had no similar issues with its pistols. There is also a picture of the new FBI holster, by Safariland, which Safariland agreed to modify to fit the ambi slide stop levers. I encourage any interested persons to go out and find the April 2017 issue of SWAT Magazine. The article is on page 52 and it is 6 pages long with a number of high quality photographs. The article indicates that the Glock2 ran 120,000 rounds without a single stoppage or malfunction, and beat the SIG P320. The article also says that demand for the G19 is now so great that Glock is building 70,000 pistols per week, and it is considering building another plant to keep up with its orders. It is obvious the article is written by someone with access, and someone with a history within the FBI Firearms Training Unit (FTU). Bob Pilgrim, as many of you may know is a pen name for this former FBI agent.

The numbers seem strangely high, but they could be referring to molded frames only. Several "in the know" people on other US forums have indicated that Glock has a backorder of nearly 1,000,000 pistols. A rolex isn't that great of a watch either, but I see your point. Being mass produced doesn't necessarily mean junk, it simply means mass produced.

i just find it strange that the article states 3.6 million guns a year are being produced by Glock yet we can see the AFT data does not support that number.
not even close.

when you think about it the massive US military contract that Glock just lost out on was for years and the number of pistols in that order was 200k +200+k from side agencies with a total of around 485k.
that is a massive order and even that would not be 1/7th of what the article states Glock is putting out each year.

meh, i think ill stick with the ATF numbers.
