Beretta a303 charging handle fell off

Any body know how to reinstall a beretta a303 charging handle? Mine is a 20 gauge and I was cycling the action and closed the bolt and it popped off. Reading how this isn't uncommon on these models.
Anybody know what to do?

It just pushes in if I recall.........I had one pop out in the middle of a slough.Had to order another one.......Harold
 
There is a plunger and spring that retains the charging handle in the bolt. Just push it into the bolt and it should snap in. If it doesn't snap in then either charging handle or the the charging handle plunger may be worn and need replacing.
 
Ok. I pushed it in but I can pull it out pretty easily and it will fall out when I close the action half the time. The charging handle looks worn ie: not crisp where it is machined to plug into the action.
So, would I need a new handle you think?

Probably if it's coming out when you close the action.

yea, it's stoeger in Canada for pretty much anything beretta- pull up the beretta website for the address or write stoeger Canada- and be prepeared to get screwed- they have an exclusivity and take full advantage of it

It's a little confusing. According to this a charging handle for a 391 will fit into a 303 even though there is a separate part with a different number made specifically for the 303.

The 391 cocking handles are not hard to find. Stoeger should have them or you can order from Cole Gun in the U.S. who will ship small parts here.
 
it wouldn't surprise me if the 300, 303, 391 and the 400 all took the same charging handle- when ordering make it PERFECTLY CLEAR that you need one for the 303- sometimes there's mods invoved between models- ie don't just order by part number- I have an a400 LEFT HAND and I bet if I ordered a charging handle, it would be one for the right and inverted in the notes

If it's just the charging handle then yes. Just insert, press and it should snap in.
