Jewlery from the Government!

Only gong I got was UNEF II for kicking some Gyppo dirt back in the seventies.
Can't find it anymore. Don't know if a younger family member traded it for a bag of weed or what.
Anyone know what I can do for a replacement?

BTW. I like what Recce21 said. There's a lot of people out there that don't deserve their recognition.
I work in an engineering office, and the guys with their "Professional Engineer" accreditation proudly hanging over their desks are the ones who's designs I trust the least.
The best designers either aren't accredited, or don't bother displaying their certificates, as they are reputable in their own right.

BZ.

It's Chiefs like me that do our best to make sure the troops are properly recognized in a reasonable period of time for the Honours and Awards they earned, and deserve.

It's more than just 12 years of undetected crime, it's 12 years of service to our nation. An often thankless job that not very many people take on.

I'm sorry that you had to go and order it yourself, in that way, the system let you down. (Probably in other ways too, but it's an imperfect machine that we are all cogs in, we're human, we make mistakes.)

Well done.

Agreed. While my wife is a 'P.Eng' and son on the road to one..... I always remember working for Ford Motor Co. Years ago...we were building a large truck ass'y plant and I dealt with all the subs. There was an Engineering Firm called 'Bell Engineering' that handled all the hydraulics design. At the time this was the 'go to' firm for Hydraulics in Canada. Mr. Bell had a hockey sock of P.Eng's that he employed in his firm...but he was 'self-taught' and did all the complex designs as well as approved everything they did.....but the drawings had to be 'signed off' by his on-staff 'P.Eng's'...such was/is the formality of the 'professional associations'

Got my German beer drinking medal (SSM) 25 years after I got out. I hadn't even heard about it till a buddy told me to apply. I stuck it up on the wall with my badge collection.

Every profession has its stars and duds. Don't get me started on doctors, lawyers or electricians.

Thanks! I blew my CD by .... well, let's not go there at the mo' ..... Just as well, as standing on Parade Nov.11 with a CD pales by comparison with the rows of ribbons on the men from "The Greatest Generation" and the guys who fought in the Balkans and Afghanistan.

"A boy came home from the war today
draped in the maple leaf flag .... "

Congrats to all who served even if you did not get the medal.. thank you

My CD was 3 years late. 2 years to get to the unit and then it sat in the adjutant's desk for a year. He was jealous because he didn't have one and didn't want me to have one either. Fixed him good a few years later.

my CD1 was nearly on time, but I was with a better unit. Working on filling the second row of ribbons now and will have a new one to add by rememberance day ;) just don't think I will have time to get it mounted
