Looking for some info....
I'm in wmu 65 and am just recently licensed, while I have the hunting regs on hand, I am looking for clarification on hunting geese.

All the references I have found refer to hunting on water, I am cursed with thousands of them in the corn and soy fields behind my home. Is taking them I such an environment legal?

i wouldn't trust "a tourism" website to give the best or correct info. Geese are waterfowl, which means they're federally regulated. cross reference federal regs with ontario regs then any municipal regs for your area i.e. sunday gun hunting etc. if you're asking about location to hunt, you are fine to shoot them in your field provided they are in season and you're licenced. they don't have be by or on water. last i checked the extra spring season just ended in ontario which means they won't be open season again until the fall. good luck.

Migratory bird hunting is regulated federally and that is why there is very little information about hunting geese in our provincial hunting rguelations summary. Here is a link that should fill you in https://www.ec.gc.ca/rcom-mbhr/default.asp?lang=En&n=8fac341c-1[/QUO

Read these regs very carefully. It's confusing at first but all the information is there. Seasons vary depending on the municipality and depending on whether the municipality allows Sunday hunting.

Shoot steel and not lead regardless of where they are - MNR will and can check - make sure you have zero lead shot with you even spent lead shells from previous non-waterfowl hunts

Snow goose is open in WMU 65 until May 31. Daily limit of 20 still applies.
