Who/What is the best deal on barrel blanks these days? Looking for a stainless .224 cal blank.

Benchmark puts together a really nice barrel as well. Bighorn Sales in BC has them in stock all the time.

I'm in the market for a 224 barrel as well. Asides from being Canadian, is there any other advantage to JC Custom over say Benchmark? Prices seem quite close.

I've never run a JC barrel but it's hard to beat any of my Benchmark barrels. Also Gary with Bighorn Sales is great to deal with and his inventory is crazy.

Because joe's an idiot, inconsistent and not worth wasting your time trying to deal with. Where as Gary at bighorn is quick, honest and knowledgable. If you don't like my opinion, then waste your time with Joe......

Is that a US list price? Because if it is, you are not going to get one landed here for that in any reasonable amount of time.

Figure on several weeks to get the paperwork in order, and a fair cost to cover the permits to get it out of the States. The guys that import regularly, bring in enough volume to amortize the permits and time across a volume of barrels, vs. putting all that into one.

Aren't all the green mountain centerfire barrels sold as 1 1/4" blanks? Ie no profiling available? Contouring barrels sucks rocks - I personally would much rather spend more to get a contoured and hand lapped barrel from JC.

But that's of course just my opinion, some guys like to play around and I have nothing against that. And either way $200 for a blank is still dirt cheap.
