SIG P320 Slide Play......

Wonder if it will shoot as accurate at the Walther PPQ M2 5"?

Rich

Is that the Q5? Cos thats another pistol on my "possibles" list - particularly as it comes with the hardware to mount a red dot

I initially heard or read that it had an improved PPQ trigger (lighter/better) which already was considered pretty good (possibly the best of all striker fired pistols) but then I recently heard or read somewhere else that it was the same as the PPQ

Anyone know for sure?

Shouldn't matter, that bullet has left the barrel before the slide starts moving, as long as your slide and barrel are a tight lockup your not going to have issues and your POI is going to remain the same, your sights aren't going to move.

This is correct... I've seen FNS9, Sig 320, M&Ps all with considerable gaps and play between the front of the slide and the frame. Doesn't make a lick of difference.

You're pretty much regulated to metal pistols if it bugs you that much!

Really? I thought the Legion was the flagship model?

The Legion is a US made production gun. The LDC is a German made custom shop gun. Better barrel, fit and finish, adjustable sights... I've got both, would part with the Legion long before my LDC. I got my LDC for less than my Legion as well.

A matter of personal preference I guess. Have you tried the P226 Legion SAO? Out of the three, I'd pick the P226 Legion SAO.

I bought three P226s back in November, an LDC, a Legion SAO, and a stainless elite. I sold the SAO after dry firing it a few times. It's trigger felt a bit mushy / creepy to me. The LDC is an all steel match pistol, the Legions are spruced up service grade guns. Apples and oranges in my view. Love my LDC, but my X5 Alround is the most accurate of my Sigs.

My sigs do that too. I think most modern combat pistols will by design. what you should be concerned with is the barrel lock up when in battery. As long as that is tight, you wont have any issues. My MK25 has quite a bit of play and is very accurate!

If you get the chance, you need to actually fire the P226 Legion SAO. The LDC is very nice, the Allround is nicer indeed. I prefer the X5 Competition to the Allround, but clearly I am a SIG SAO fan.

Same trigger, just blue. Still the most amazing stock trigger I have ever handled.

Only thing I don't like about the Q5 is the loss of irons when you mount the RDS... Far prefer to have irons on like on my Glock as the RDS do go down on pistols with hard use... Even good ones like my RMR.

True. I have only shot it using irons but the LPA sights on it are really nice and fully adjustable for elevation and windage. I'm not sure why you would need irons if using a RDS? Is it just as a backup or does it add some advantage? I don't have a lot of experience with pistol optics.

Q5 has the same trigger as the M2 5", only coated with a blue coloured anti-friction coating. Industry reps at the Shot Show advised that they believed that the Q5 would smooth out and "break-in" faster than the regular M2.
I tried many side by side, couldn't feel a difference. Walther trigger springs are now sourced easily by a few different spring manufacturers. For a couple of dollars you can instantly go up or down a complete pound in weight.
Changing the trigger spring takes an untrained person about 3.5 minutes total and no detail strip is required, just take the slide off to expose it. My PPQ M2 now has a clean breaking trigger at just over 3.5 lbs.

I have HK disease.....but....read the Defense Review of the PPQ and VP9....conclusion is the PPQ is a higher quality, better built gun.

I love the P320 X Series, but the version built last year by Gray Guns had an outstanding trigger. The one Sig Sauer displayed at Shot this year had a trigger over 5 lbs, and it wasn't great. They want it eligible for IPSC Production.
Loved the frame, that should be standard on all P320's. The VTAC version of the P320 was outstanding too and might be better than the X-Series P320.

All this said, the paper down range doesn't lie......and.....for those of you who haven't shot or owned the PPQ M2 5" or Q5....the accuracy is unbelievable! I know there were issues with some of the Walther P99's (Montreal Police!), but
I firmly believe that the PPQ is the corrected / perfected version. Walther has a reputation for accuracy....the stepped chamber of the PPQ delivers....at a very competitive price point.
