I have been picking away at this build for a couple years now and i think im finally done with it.
i think ive gotten it to where i really like how it is.
time to loctite all the screws down and keep it this way.... for a while, haha!

just added the SeeAll open site to it, it just arrived today.
slapped it on and took it out to the gravel pit and ran 100 rounds through it.
very interesting optic!

took some getting use to it but now that ive been using it im very impressed with it!

this build i wanted a nice light 10/22 for hiking or plugging gophers all afternoon while walking but i didnt want a scope on it and i detest red dots for shooting gophers so i wanted a different option.
so i put the NoDak Spud open sites on it last month and they are great and now i got this SeeAll on it as the primary site and im liking it so far!

all in as the picture of it stands with the sling and 10rd mag and sights on it the entire package weight is just a couple ounces over 4 pounds.
thats it.
4 POUNDS!!!!!

anyways, thought id share.

(oh, pedigree of this build, 2013 stock Ruger 10/22, Tactical Solutions aluminum barrel and extended magazine release, i think its a Power Customs charging handle, Kidd Bolt Buffer, Hogue OD green over-molded stock, NDS open sites and a SeeAll fiber optic, ebay braided paracord sling)

Cool setup...

Simple, light and very shootable/practical...
Where did you buy the NDS sights..I NEED a set of those :)

Cool looking rifle, nicely done! A buddy of mine told me about those See-All sights a while back. I'd love to try one some time. Please report back on how you like it.

I like it!! It has a Scout Rifle look & purpose to it. I like that you set out with a goal in mind for the build and stuck to it. That paracord sling is cool - my daughter made me a watch band similar to that so now I wonder if she'd be able to rig up a sling too! Can you post a pic of how the paracord is attached to the sling buckles?

I normally don't like braided slings, but it looks good on your rig. Wish my eyesight was up to open sights again... I have to scope everything.

Brownells.
i have been wanting them for a while and have talked to the guys at NDS a couple times but they still dont ship to Canada and no one up here carries their products yet.
so i finally just said screw it and paid the big bucks for them.

they where like $120US and i think by the time you add on exchange and customs i was around $190.
neat sights though.

they are intersting.
takes some getting use too.
i will say i was grouping really nice with them!
i wasnt shooting too far out, maybe 20yards but the groups free hand were minute of gopher easy, probably more along the lines of 2".
for me freehand thats spectacular!

ill try them on the bench next month when the weather gets a big nicer and report back.
