How long of a wait is too long?

Just out of curiosity, how long would you be willing to wait for an ammo shipment? I'm not going to name names, but I placed an order with a site sponsor in January and still haven't seen it. Numerous calls and emails are replied to with either " ...shipping tomorrow...", ".....shipping soon.....", or lately "......backordered, no ship date.....". It's not like I ordered something oddball or custom, just 9mm. Also, I'm new here, so apologies in advance if I've posted this in the wrong spot.

If you've been waiting for a month and they've lied to you repeatedly, I'd call your visa and have the charges reversed. There's plenty of other sponsors that can fulfill your order in a timely manner.

2 moths is too long. I'd cancel order and buy somewhere else. 9mm is everywhere and should be available. Unless you bought something special? Then oh well 2 months may not be long enough

I will echo the comment here but with a bit of additional opinion.

I buy guns/ammo for sale at work. I ordered a great deal of our years supply during the month of December when most of the wholesaler's hold their buyers shows.

It's now March and I have less than 50 percent of my ammo (bulk) orders.

So, if you ordered something that was "in stock", then you have waited too long already.

If you "pre-ordered" something they were sourcing on a "placing order", that should have been made clear by the vendor with the added information that you may not see it until the third quarter of the year (as a worst case).

Now you say it's just "9mm", but there is some variety there - late last year I could get cases of PMC, as many as I wanted. Currently, most PMC branded stuff is on back-order (just as an example). But my pre-order "fixed the price" at what it was selling for in December, so even though our buck has lost another 3 or 4 cents, it hasn't effected our buying price. And that's my only point. You may just have not got the "full story" of what you were ordering - talk to the vendor and if you can't wait, cancel your order...

Another phone call cleared things up. It was a "pre-order", as there was too many orders and the retailer couldn't fulfill all orders and once. If they had told me this at my initial inquiry, I wouldn't have posted this thread! On a positive note, my ammo apparently shipped according to UPS.
