shipping make it a no-go for me in Ontario. Wondering if any ontario retailers will be selling any of this stuff soon? It is not common to find surplus non-corrosive 54r. I paid about $360 taxes/shipping for 880rds of corrosive over xmas so $375 for 1000 non-corrosive would be fairly well priced (If I could pick it up locally)

Anyone shoot this stuff? review? SVT compatibility lol

I am skeptical. 880 would be two 440 spam cans. That is old stuff - salts in primer is there for long shelf life. They would not make ammo for long term (100 year) storage without that.

It would be great if it was!

I plan to reload for my SVT40 - pulled bullets/powder.

Just not sure how many reloads I will get on brass - perhaps 3-4 total firings. Barnaul seems to not be accurate (from what I have read).

If it is same new production (2011?) mg ammo canadaaammo used to sell for 250 per crate - it cycles just fine in my SVT with 1.3 setting. But I always treated it as corrosive and clean rifles after each range trip.

I doubt it is non corrosive and who cares if its corrosive anyways.
Also I was actually talking to these guys on the phone the other day and he said they would run out of SVT's very soon. Get em while you can!

lol... I remember the 2002 batch of copper washed PLA 7.62x39 they sold as non-corrosive. I stupidly believed them and rusted the chamber of a nice non-refurb Factory 26 Sino-Soviet SKS. Luckly I cought it early enough that it polished out.

Ever since then, I treat all Lever Arms ammo as corrosive unless it's made in the USA. Caveat Emptor.

That said, if someone buys some, fire a blank primer onto a piece of plain steel and leave it in your basement for a week. If it rusts where the muzzle blast soot is deposited on the plate, the ammo is corrosive.

I might have to grab a crate in April when I go down for a work trip, if I do I'll do the nail test and post pics. I don't give a #### if it turns out to be corrosive in the end as I normally shoot corrosive.

If it's actually non corrosive I'll have to stock up in May when I go to the island to see some buddy's.

Lever Arms has previously brought in two batches of "non-corrosive" Chinese ammo that turned out to be corrosive.

When Canada Ammo brought in their last batch of 7.62x54r 2011 production, the factory told them it was non-corrosive but they mixed in some older corrosive ammo without telling them.
