my loadmaster is about 5 years old. recently bought some new 5 hole turrets for other calibers and found that the turrets do not fit in the press. they seem to be 2-3mm over sized in the cog area compared to the one i have that fits. I have 5 that fit easy so it does not seem to be the press that is out. the funny thing is i have two new turrets that will not go in so i swapped with a buddy and his are over sized too (also recently purchased).

lee is willing to exchange them, if i ship the turrets to them but I think I will just end up dremelling the sides a bit to make them fit. would hate to pay $10 to ship them back to get another pair that don't fit.

it's a fluke- my loadmaster dates from the middle 90's and all my turrets drop right in-

yea, I only bought a couple with the first purchase and bought another 3 later on that fit in with no problem. but the last two were bought 2 years ago and my buddys' were purchase in the last 6months or so and neither of them fit in even with mild persuasion.

will give their tech guy a try.

I bought 2 extra when I got my Loadmaster a few years ago, and one of them didn't line up very well. Chucked it, ordered 5 more and all fit perfectly.

I just bought a new 9mm shellplate about 2 months ago. Fit perfectly. See if they will let you just send pictures of the defective parts rather than ship them back. I've heard they sometimes do that.

The question has to be asked if Dremmeling will maintain C/L integrity of the die holes and regulate the advancement amount accurately. I appreciate your attempt at expediency/frugality but it may just compound the problem.

I agree with this. Dremeling will not give you a uniform fit and it would take a better man with a handheld dremel than me to maintain a 1.mm or less uniformity along the entire circumference of a turret.

The last lee mold handles I bought didn't fit in the lee molds because they were too big. Seems like QC is dropping in some Lee products.

i believe it is the top circumference that guides the turret into the proper alignment. keep in mind this piece does not move. considering they want me to send them back and that cost is just about half the worth of them, it can't hurt to try. worst case is I have to buy some new ones, locally so I can bring them back if they don't fit. I pretty much told Lee I was not impressed as this is not wear and tear, it is a manufacturer defect.

NCR IS NATIONAL CAPITAL REGION--ie basically Ottawa- higgenson is the Canada wide lee distributor- higgenson powders - he has a web site
he may even be reasonably close
he's on hiway 34, hawksbury- you go east from Ottawa and follow the river- might also be worth a visit to that unnamed company in van leek hill

been to higgenson before, unfortunately he is 1hr away from here. I didn't buy them there either, so doubt he would exchange them and wouldn't want to stick him with some bad lee stuff that he would have to send back.
