280 and 160gr bullet best powder

Been looking at the 7mm-08 thread so thought would see some thoughts on the 280 with the 160gr bullet.

As Ganderite said. I use the a similar load in my Browning 280 with a Nosler Partition. 55.5 grains RL22. Safe on MY rifle.

I worked up an amazing load with Norma MRP and 160 gn Part for my old Win Ftrwt push feed, CCI 250...........won't divulge the charge weight but it is heavily compressed and shoots very well. Velocity is right up with a 7 mag............

From the Sierra Manual:

Accuracy Load: Viht N165/ 55.4grs. 2600fps/ 2401ft. lbs.
Hunting Load: RE-19/ 54.0grs. 2700fps/ 2589ft. lbs.

I had great success with Speer Mag Tips and IMR7828 and the SSC version.

I just started using IMR7977 last year behind a 160 gr partition and it shoots with the best velocity I've ever got from a 280 after nearly 40 years of using the cartridge. It shoots this load with very good accuracy and if I wanted a bit more speed I could step on it some more.

Reloader 26. 2900+ fps is very possible, at sane pressures

Well finally got out to try a few loads IMR 4831 worked best with the speers and IMR 7828 with the accubonds will get out again to try a few 5 shot groups and see.
Still have to work something up with the partitions.
Tried 4831 with the 150gr swifts and wasn't to bad will try 7828 and see what happens.
