I've heard a lot of excellent feedback about the 9.3 x 62 as a moose/elk caliber and have been looking to add one.

I've been searching online for a new Tikka T3 (or T3x) in 9.3 x 62 and have been coming up completely empty. Anyone happen to have seen one in a local shop that may not list their inventory online?

I bought mine from prophet river over a year ago, left handed tikka hunter, it worked well with a slow moving 286 bullet on elk, I plan on changing my load a bit for a bit more speed, but I would recommend.

I definitely recommend the cartridge - it will certainly do for your moose and elk - but it can be a bit difficult to find in factory rifles of any type here in Canada, let alone if you're just looking for a single brand as you are. Assuming you're not in a hurry though, stick with it. You won't be disappointed.

Contact Stoeger Canada directly, I believe they can tell you what retailers have that caliber. They are the importers for Sako and Tikka rifles into Canada. They have guided me into finding a certain Sako rifle before.

Factory ammo is available many places that have a good variety. Now if we were taking 9.3x57...

I've been drooling over the various 9.3 options at trade ex for a while. One day I'll own one...

I have a battue lite in9.3, great, accurate, light weight, but you do notice the recoil, I load the 270 Spear to near max.

my main moose gun 9.3x62 is a T3 with a Leupold V3 2.5x8, Nosler 250gr AB or 286gr partion, 2680 and 2450fps respectively. One of my favourites!

I had one sold it ,great cal. However in the T3 the recoil is lets just say allot. And I am not recoil shy.

Totally agree, my first 9.3 was a T3, excellent rifle but a kicker for me.
I now have an older original Mauser, slightly heavier than the Tikka but just as good a shooter..
