I have been debating about getting this rifle but I have one concern, I don't belong to a gun club and would like to target shoot on Crown land but I feel that it would bring on negative attention with the way the gun looks. Do any of you take yours out to the bush and shoot or is it a range gun only? Not sure if I am being overly paranoid.

Thanks for the help.

It's NR, so shoot it where you want. The public needs to be desensitized to the whole "looks scary" nonsense the media perpetuates anyways.

I think it's an excellent choice for a 22. It is a 10/22 with different furniture. I agree with coyoteking. I am for doing what is legal and making a statement. If you reaaaaaaly dont feel comfortable, bet a 10/22 carbine or something and get a nice tapco stock. That way you can switch it around once in a while.

I've never seen this ,so called ,negative attention.

I think it's a pile of crap, imagined up by the opposition.
Or maybe it's the media, trying to fear monger, but nobody really gives a crap.

Take it out and shoot it,in the bush, you'll be surprised that, nobody really cares.

Overly Paranoid.
Unless you are concern about price and weight, then yeah, the SR-22 is expensive and heavy.

Kids and I go out in the bush all the time. Every other trip someone comes over to see what we are doing and watches for a while. No issues yet in over 5 years.

This little guy is still to young to shoot but he's already learning how to safely hold and point the rifle. The evil grin worries me though...
