Since the first day I heard abouth Smith making a 2.0 I wanted to get one. I always kept an eye out for one. Asked the local gun gun every second day. I was told the FDE would only be available in november or so. SFRC had a 40cal in stock but already had a first gen. I really had my mind set on the FDE version and did not want anything else. I eventually contacted IrunGuns through the board asking if they could get me one on a sunday night
5 minutes later i had a reply with a link. I could not resist and pulled the trigger. first time ever buying a gun online. i was a bit nervous/anxious throughout the whole process but here it is!!!

happier then the first time i had ###!

I can't get past that safety lever or whatever it is...

Or whatever it is? 10 years/1500 posts later and you cannot identify a thumb safety? C'mon man, lol.

The 5" models are equipped with a thumb safety, shorter models can be had with or without the thumb safety.

i didnt like the thumb safety at first either but now fooling around then gun for the past hours o dontind it at all. once set you shoot and thats it. its not like you hve to press it before every single shot. i believe you can also take it out but dont quote me on that

Yup and it's really easy to do. If you contact S&W they'll likely have the distributor send you a set of frame plugs for free.

You won't know if the safety's getting in the way until the lead starts to fly for real. You can train the problem away or remove the safety, I prefer the latter.

Maybe the number of leaky legs has something to do with it or the fact some in the US appendix carry. I know the younger crowd live in the belief nothing ever can go wrong but.....

To the OP what premium do you pay over what you would expect regular retail pricing is involved if any?

I am trying to rationalize the purchase through them for a pistol readily available on Gun broker in the US.

i paid 24usd more then the s retail price advertised on s&w website. i did not do an extended research on the procing honestly. i asked northsylva about the fde and they said not before november. Irunguns was the only place i could find it so i bought it right away. i might eventually try to go with gunbroker but i have to reasearch more on how to work that out

I know what it is, just didn't know if they called it something different... Marketing, you know. Lol

Glock brainwashing. LOL

No, a pointless device that I don't need that just gets in the way. My Glock was the 4th gun that I bought without a safety/decocking lever for your information. The want for simplicity lead me to Glock, not the other way around.

LOL I wonder how many guys walking around with a limp would agree with you? Glock is the only gun I know of that has a body part* named after it. Appendix carry and tell us again how useless the safety is. Your finger is not the only item that will set a gun off.
