So the Gen 2's have been out for a bit. To those who've managed to put some trigger time on them:

Any feeding issues?
Mag incompatibilities?
How's the new mag release?
Any other things of note?

Thanks in advance.

Just a hunch. But probably the same guns, just modified with the rail. The cost of messing around with the magwell and mag release from the factory would no doubt make it more expensive than it is.

Well it has a new ambi mag release. And reports of a slightly longer feed ramp. I'm guessing the magwell is the same as before so still mag picky.

Curious as well..

I know of only 3 stores that have them in stock for around $1300 without tax nor shipping. You're looking at $1500 buying from these smaller shops beside the one sold by CSC.

Well, just ordered one from Tenda for $1199 and gave them a try since they are sponsored dealers on here.

I'll let you guys know in the future how it shoots..

Thanks for taking the plunge, man. I was thinking about it until I had to do my taxes.

Overall better than the original ones and the FTU. The rail is super easy to take off however it's no used Tavor but that was expected. The factory mag is thight! The 20rd Colt mags dropped free like butter and the mag release is a saviour, yes but could be fatter for a more positive feel.

This is a temporary set-up with the Primary Arms 3x ACSS which I'm a big fan of this reticle. Probably won't shoot it for a while as I am busy with work until spring break-up.

As ShawnC6 said its $100 more than the FTU at the moment and still having doubts if it's worth it. They will likely go down in price within a year or 2 if patient but I still think it is an improved T97 with good BUIS.

I may get my friend to thread it 1/2 28tpi again with a muzzle break maybe or the old reliable A2 birdcage shorty like my others..

Any questions? Onetwentyish has a good hands on review from the one for sale at CSC about an improved feed ramp etc..

Trigger is at an impressive 5.5lbs with lots of creep.

Ooooh I'm feeling the pull. I'll still probably wait until it's cheaper than the FTU. Unless...

How does the top rail come off?

EDIT: I should probably ask since I can't handle one in person yet:
What's the new upper made of?
You said the BUIS are awesome but what kind of sight picture, adjustments, etc?
Still a$$ heavy?

Yeah I'm curious how it comes off now too.

Edit. I have no idea what parts would break, but yep I want parts kits too.

As far as the creep / trigger, that's slightly improved with the LHG. And would probably bring the pull down a pound too.

It would have to be one helluva an improvement over FTU for me to even consider.
Mounted and attempted to zero a Vortex Spitfire 3x on my buds FTU.
The ONLY mag that worked decent was the factory supplied 5/30.
Tried my IWI 10rd pistol mags,no feed issues but super tight and got stuck in magwell. They drop free like a rock from my XCR.
PCV BW50 mags same....super tight but they are a wee bit sticky in XCR also.
C-Products BW50 were terrible,fit ok but lots of FTFs/stovepipes.
I hate the mag release.
I hate the safety even more.
Never did get it zeroed as I was too pissed off and ran out of daylight messing with mags and jams.
I will say at 25m it shot a sub 1" 5shot group, but the line of sight is a good 4-5" above bore which I didn't take into account when zeroing at 25 and at 100 it was of course wayyy high.
