X95 quick review

How is it horrible? How does it compare to Gen 2.5 Tavor stock trigger? Everyone seem to be harping about how good the X95 trigger is.

It is, Dilligaf just want a high speed trigger. My x95 will likely only get the Lightning bow upgrade. If I want better I will swap the x95 pack into my TAR and put my Geissele in my x95, but the x95 does not warrent a Geissele or Tav-d unless your uber picky or have deep pockets and this is your only platform.

Fixed it for ya. :)

Yes im picky. Deep pockets not so much. I hate when people bring that up as an excuse.

If you want something. Put in the work.

I have to disagree on the trigger. Its horrible , I was actually hoping that I would've been able to sell my Tav-D but they just polished a turd with the X95 trigger.

I completely agree, my x95 trigger blows, not much better then my tar-21 uber-horrible trigger.
When the OP says it's light and crisp!? Wtf? Have you ever shot an AR or 1911 in your life buddy?

Which trigger is preferable between Geissele , Timney or Tav D
Who sells 'em?

I've got a Geissele SD-3G in one of my AR's, do the aftermarket X95 triggers compare?

my only grip with mine is "making it safe" with no mag in it.
it seems awkward to hold rifle, pull back charging handle and manipulate the bolt hold open.
looking for videos now to show me a better way, also willing to take advice, this is my first tavor.
so far I've just been placing it pointed down range centre of chest pull and try to get at the bolt hold open with right hand!

I usually put the butt of the rifle on the bench and do as you say. Either that or a empty mag.

It's not really any more awkward than with an ar15. Remember that like the AR's bolt catch, the Tavor's catch is like a teeter-totter and pushing in on the reverse end will lock the bolt.

I brace the rifle against my hip, pull the handle all the way back, and that tension will hold the rifle in place as I engage the bolt catch.

I own AR's with some nice triggers such as Geissele SSA-E, S3G, and Hi-Speed National Match - DMR.
I have shot my friends Tavor TAR-21 V2.5 and it's not too bad considering all the harsh criticism it gets.
I have dry fired the X-95 and it doesn'tseem that bad either.
Both of these triggers have much more creep than any Mil-spec AR trigger.
I won't compare them to my Geissele triggers but I have shot Mil-Spec triggers that are just as bad in the pull weight department.
I believe it is a disservice to the community to try and compare a $700 aftermarket trigger setup to a factory trigger.

Agreed & we have heard from an actual military trigger puller that says the system works fine for it's intended purpose...

The perception the X95 has better trigger is more to do with the grip angle than any thing else.

If people are looking for small split time and all A-zone hits, they will need a muzzle brake or comp before the trigger will come into play -ie, having a super light and sweet trigger without a comp or brake is a waste of time if split time is the objective.

For general military use, putting brakes or comp on a service rifle generates huge muzzle flash and blast, so having a nice and light trigger for split time is not a consideration.

No. If you only replace the trigger pack, it takes about 15 mins. However, to reduce the trigger travel by upgrading it to the lightening bow(usd99), it's much more involved, you have to tear down the gun and remove the barrel to do it. A special IWI wrench will ease the pain, but still take some time. I would say 1 hour if you know what you are doing.

Comparing to swapping AR trigger out, about the same level of operations in swapping the trigger bow?

Then you only did part of the job, to reduce trigger travel by upgrading to the lightening bow, it needs way more efforts and time. Not that difficult though, but you have to tear down the gun and remove the barrel.

Took me 15 minutes :)

No it dosent...lol.. Adjust the LB set screw until you cannot move the safety selector to safe. Back it out 1/4 turn and voila. Pre travel removed. I drop tested both the TavD and factory pack and it passed. Now all I have left is a live fire test.

Taking a X95 appart is easier than a Tavor BTW and way quicker. Im sure I can do it under 5 minutes now.

An hr if you take it slow, Dilligaf and myself are pretty familiar with the platform. I would say it should only take 15-20 min if your familiar with the Tavor platform to swap the lighting bow, and only 2 pins and 30 seconds to swap the hammer/sear pack.
