Browning Buyers Beware

Sure some may disagree but I've had great service from Stoeger in Whitby. They've never taken more than a few weeks to turn something around and I've always been able to speak directly with the gunsmith. Helps that I can drive there but they seem to be running a decent operation compared to others,

Just out of curiousity....how many new Brownings have you purchased and how many of them required warranty service?

I would hazard a guess that the guy in question has bought ''zero'' Browning Firearms from NIB.
To the OP, did your Dad pay with CC or was this a cash deal ?
If it where me I would be contacting them (Credit Card Comp.) providing of course the card offers some consumer protection.
I would also be contacting the BBB for the area in which you reside and start another paper trail.
Your retailer should be going to bat for you on this and generally most manufacturers do not like dealing with the consumer for what should be a simple warranty claim.
Obviously this has gone on far to long to be a simple warranty claim, hence the CC and BBB comments.

It often depends on what is wrong with the gun. While Stoeger has definitely upped its customer service in the past few years an acquaintance of mine was without a very expensive Beretta shotgun for almost two years when it had to be shipped back to Italy to have problems corrected.

Just got my Browning A5 back from Browning Canada in Quebec. 4 Months to replace the camo stock and forearm, due to discolouration. She told me up front it maybe 4-5 months to get parts. I'm happy with my Browning service, sorry to hear your having issues.

Well, I've purchased one bnib citori last September and have owned several used browning.
Got to admit they aernt my cup of tea, thankfully, and they've all moved on.
Didn't know there were so many fanboys on cgn.

I switched from Beretta to Browning because they fit me better. Canadian Browning owners have to put some pressure on Browning to get theit act together in Canada. Maybe social media pressure would help. Just a thought.

Sounds like more of a Beretta thing than a Stoeger thing.

I realize Stoeger Canada is the umbrella under which they all sit, but I've always been made to understand that there's basically Beretta and the things they own. A good friend of mine has both a Beretta and a Benelli. They both suffered issues around the same time. The Benelli was fixed on the spot by his gunsmith (covered by Benelli at no charge to him) the Beretta however needed to have a paper trail and approvals done before any repair could take place.

I guess you never know ; I have seen old single shot Remingtons , CILs and Cooeys that have been beat around for years , and never a problem with their wood stocks splitting . Sometimes just because something cost more , does not always make it better . Hopefully Browning can get your Dads shotgun back in shape after he spent 2 grand on buying it .
