Rem 700 Classic 350 Rem Mag

It's a keeper. One of the coolest rounds ever invented. I have a custom Remington 798 350 Rem. Mag. SI -

Cool round, and the M700 classic is a nice platform to have it in.

Part of the fun is just getting your hands on different/obscure rifles. If you think you'll use it, keep it. If not, take some pics of her, and move it on down the road...... IMO.

I like the Whelen more (for no particular reason)

My brother had a classic in 350, nice enough rifle. Whether you keep it or sell it is upto you - may take awhile to replace if you regret selling it.

I have yet to shoot my 350 rm, (Ruger m77), but on paper, it's essentially a 35 whelen, which is a cartridge I love......

Be prepared to scrounge for brass and dies as they are a rare...

I used to own 700's and they are good rifles...... and the classics were the best IMOP....... I had a couple and enjoyed owning them....

It's really up to you if you wish to sell.... life takes all kinds......

If you like the 700 platform and take pride and enjoy (like me), having something a bit different that you don't mind working to feed, then you have a definite keeper there.....

If you want something more vanilla, then put it up for sale and do something for yourself with the funds..... the buyer will love his new gun and you get a chance at something you want...... pretty much win win in my books....

tikka..........you don't want that old oddball POS, you really should get rid of it and buy yourself one of the latest greatest Nosler super mags or a new tacticool black rifle. Just PM me when you decide it is not the rifle or cartridge for you, I have two already, a Mod 7 KS and a Mod 7 MS custom shop so the Classic would fit right in and have a good and loving home..........I already have 400 rounds of brass, 500 bullets and dies so dinner is made for it and the bed is rolled down..........Whenever you decide it is really an odd child and you'd rather adopt a more socially adept child for your collection.........remember PM me first !!!!!
I have as great an irrational love for the 350 RM as I do hatred for all things .277...............

I bought my 350RM Classic when they were released and I think I got the second or third last one in Ontario. This was 'pre-internet' essentially and so there were lots of phone calls to locate one. I have never regretted purchasing it and would do it again. I liked the stock design very much and then decided to save the stock and bought a McMillan classic for the rifle - the stock is very similar to the Remington factory classic design. Still have the rifle and both stocks though it has stayed in the McMillan. Has EAW mounts and 4x Nickel Supra, Tubb Speed striker (probably makes no difference) and at different times it has had the factory trigger, a Timney and a Canjar 3 lever set trigger...can't remember whats on it now. The iron sights were very good from the factory and it shoots pretty well. I have a Redding form trim die that works well on 338 WM brass (probably lots of others) .... the rifle is a comfortable weight - carries and handles easily and is just fine for anything larger than a grouse.....fwiw it doesnt leave much of a grouse other than feathers. For general north american big game hunting it is unlikely you will find any cartridge that is more effective that the 350RM under 300 yds.
