Decided to put lower rings on my 350 Rem. Mag. rifle, and then got it dialed in again. For hunting I load the Woodleigh 310gr bullet at about 2450 fps MV using Re17, a relatively mild pressure load.
Just for kicks I thought I would see how fast I could drive 200gr TSX bullets using Re17. Starting load is a few grains more that what I use for the 310's, and worked up to near maximum case capacity. I got about 2860 fps MV and pressure is below maximum. I could put in a couple more grains and would likely get about 3000 fps MV, or try a bit faster burn rate powder for more speed at safe pressure levels.
Rather impressive. About equal to or faster than a 300 Win. Mag.
