A browning bss caught my eye today. Beautiful shape, 26" barrels, 3" chamber. Wood was a 9.9/10 steel an easy 9.5/10. Choked full/mod

Only thing I didn't like was a single select trigger.

What's the going rate on these? I only see one on the ee and it's basically bnib for $1900.

Any used value opinions appreciated.

That's a good price.... if I remember the ad right, it's a sporter as well..... which commands higher dollar.....

I am in the market for a 20 gauge myself and learning that 2k is a good price for these....

I bought one last summer, pistol grip model, 30" barrels, M/F, in good condition for $1200 on the EE. The Sporter straight stocks command a higher dollar as do the higher grade oil finish and the 20 gauge. I'd check the chokes on the 26" barrel length, may be IC/Mod. All are single trigger, right barrel first unless you get into the high grade custom shop side plate models

Is it a pistol grip or sporter? Big difference in price between the two... IC/MOD guns are +$100 over F/M guns, sporters are +$500 over pistol grip. Hard to say without pictures, but give or take around $1300- $1400 for a pistol grip and $1900- $2000 for a sporter. Quality of the wood makes a big difference to the price too.

EE pricing in affect, non selective bbl's $900-1200 depending on condition. Elwood epps has a English stock 26" bbl as we speak $1.400.00 Also on gun addicts site there is a nice one with a pistol grip stock for $1.150.00 located end in Manitoba .

I saw three there yesterday and one was being sold as I was checking it out.
Didnt get a close look at it, but it was pistol grip and 26 inch barrels.
Three inch chambers and 26 in barrels is making my ears tinnitus ring even louder today.
HC has had a few good offerings over the past couple years.
Then the guy in Namaimo has one pretty sweet, but $$$ cha ching for sure.
They stopped making them in the 80's and they are getting harder to come by.

EE pricing going on.
There was one sold on auction in what they called excellent condition, in 20 gauge, for 1300 plus tax and shipping.
A 12 would be worth less.

I regret not buying the one that was in the far corner off the guy from victoria, Apparently he sold it for $1100 and to me that seems like a great deal as it was in mint shape. After shoulding so many sxs and ou the past few months I was suprised how well the BSS fit.

Oh well, the hunt continues. Didn't see much for deals on sxs or o/u except a ruger red label but it was in too rough of shape for me to even barter on the price.

bring on Kamloops!

Was waiting on the EE for months then finally said fug it and bought another over under.. the next day that pops up! Hah hahaha oh well.

Had the same thing happen to me with a Ruger #1H in 458 WM. I wanted a Browning 1885 in 45-70 and couldn't find one but then the #1 showed up in the local newspaper and I bought it. Two weeks later there was an 1885 in the same paper.

Bought it too.

there is/was one in Kamloops yesterday, sporter model too.
Looked nice, but the guy was busy and I didnt want to interrupt a possible sale to just be a lookie loo.
Off topic, but there was a Browning Model 12 in 28gauge in Grd V wood that was used as a shooter.
Dam it was heavy almost as much a 870 Wingmaster in 12 gauge.
They are out there (BSS's) just one has to be ready to pull the trigger is all.
