Currently in the saving and research phase of planning my next purchase. Really liking the idea of either a Tavor or an XCR-L (the newer models). This being said, There's a lot of info online that makes both of these firearms sound great... and not so great.

I've handled both and like them both and so, I'm asking for some of that CGN sage wisdom.

Thanks in advance.

Strictly limited to the two:
About the same accuracy for both, which is to say, an inconsistent 1.5 to 3 moa.
Control placement is good on both.
Tavor has better quality and reliability.
Tavor has better balance and is easier to shoot positionally. Xcr is easier to go prone or bench, but does not have the accuracy to make that worthwhile.
If I was forced to buy another one of them it'd be the tavor.
A converted acr whips both of them soundly in the accuracy department...

If only the Tavor was offered in 7.62x39.............only reason i didn't buy the Tavor was I like to shoot A LOT.

XCR. I experienced better accuracy than others will have you believe it's capable of delivery consistently, take that how you will. Ergonomics of it favor prone and bench shooting.

I've owned both and I prefer the mechanisms and controls for the xcr, more intuitive. I'm also a bigger guy and I found shooting the Tavor uncomfortable. That's just my $0.02

I have owned both. An XCR with the 5.56 and x39 uppers and a Tavor.

I still have the Tavor.

I have been able to get consistent accuracy with the right ammo.

Reliable. Zero. Zero failures.

Prices have never been better than now, thanks to the x95 release. Almost 1/2 the price of an ACR (and good luck aftermarket with the ACR).

I love how people are championing the B&T as better than both. A gun that hasn't even gotten to the consumers hands here in Canada yet and retails for $3900 + Tax!!! Well hell, for that price it MUST be better.

Tavor. All day every day.

Both great guns, reliable, ergonomic, and lightweight. Both reasonably (probably 2-3 MOA, but I usually shoot unsupported within 100 yards) accurate, or at least accurate enough for my kind of shooting. I'd have a hard time choosing between giving up my recent-production light-barrel keymod XCR or my gen 2.5 TAR21. They're both just awesome. You'll likely be happy with either one. I'm saving up for an X95 in addition to the Tavor and XCR, not instead of either one, if that tells you anything.
