Just came in the mail, Larry Vickers AR15 book. Got it with his autograph (when I'm paying that much might as well pay the extra 20$ for the signature). Very cool book, haven't gone through it yet but the rest of my night is gonna be occupied. I can't wait for volume 2.

No you have to go directly to vickers guide. The price is very steep. 125$ USD for the autographed copy plus 50$ shipping. I'm collecting as many of these kinds of books as I can, so I justified to myself that it'll be worth it, and I was not disappointed.

$50.00 shipping? That's ridiculous given the USPS rates to Canada. With such an inflated retail price, even if a limited premium quality printing, it's unconscionable that LAV is charging $20 extra for his signature. I've always been a fan of his, but it seems like Larry is now a convert to the DILLIGAF lifestyle except where money is concerned. That's a shame. I remember reading about several disappointed and/or disatisfied attendees of LAV's multi-day 1911 gunsmithing workshop. Instead of the hands-on, fully engaged personal instruction promised from LAV, the latter basically phoned in his role of teacher according to the reports I read. Honestly, I had dismissed them out-of-hand, at least initially, but after hearing about some less than courteous interactions at SHOT and the nickle & diming BS with the book I'm second guessing myself. I hope I'm wrong, but LAV wouldn't be the first to fall victim to the dangers of celebrity and ego. :(

Larry answered my same question on another thread. I own the book as well. The price is reflective of realties of too much outsourcing. Simple as that.

As for Ego I'm sure Larry has some at times like anyone else, but I'm sure he checks himself more than practically everyone else does for a man in his position.

Awesome, I went to order one last week but stopped when I saw the shipping. Asked a friend to grab me a copy in the US and I'll pick it up when I'm down in Alabama next month.

Too be fair it came really nicely packaged for shipping. Plus it was like 2 day shipping to my house if that.

Whats the dilligaf lifestyle?

DILLIGAF = Texting/Internet for: Do I Look Like I Give A F*#k?

As I said, I sure hope LAV hasn't been lost to Dark Side. Hearing potentially negative things about him has me humming Don MacLean's "American Pie" to myself as I rock back and forth in a bid to self-sooth! ;)

Well instead of "dangling the carrot" please dump the rumors here and now, perhaps LAV will chime in to defend himself.

I've had some interactions with him recently and he's been nothing but courteous.
