I recently acquired a t3 lite in 338 wm. So far I have tried federal fusion 225 and some leftover hand loads I had from my ruger. The fusions grouped at about 1.25-1.5" and the handloads from 1.5-2". The handloads are 210 partitions over 72.5 grains of imr 4831.

Before I go too far into building a load I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for the t3 in this caliber? Handloads or factory. Feel free to pm if you don't want to post your load info.

I load 185 TTSX over h4350 as hot as I can go and my rifle like it.
Also 210b TTSX over H 4831 as hot as possible and it loves it.
My rifle is a T3 hunter.

I don't understand shooting sub 225gr bullets in a 338. To accomplish what? Getting a glorified 300WM with pathetic sectional density? Just not sure what the reasoning is.

Welcome to the club; but I don't understand shooting sub 250 grain bullets.

For the .308 and 30-06 case it makes a little more sense because they can provide more powder space than a relatively long heavy for cal 30 caliber bullet.

Considering to use my recently acquired 338 Win. Mag. on an upcoming hunting trip. Heavier bullets preferred to take advantage of high sectional densities which promote deep penetration. Based on consistently good results with Swift A-Frames in heavier calibers, the 275gr A-Frame would be my choice.
