Every now and again I have a brain tewt that cawst me time and brain cells
trying to devise a way to make an old shooter better.

The last endeavor was an old 22 rimfire I dint know existed.
So I bought it. It was missing the detach mag witch the chappeau noire gave up.
Now I need the mag latch assembly that holds the mag to the receiver.
Dint know this L shaped latch/bracket was missing.

I've done a WTB in the EE without success.
Made a few phone calls and still, no hunnie.
Called WGP's and they said, "good luck".

The critter is a Winchester Model 131 bolt action with the detachable magazine.

Need some ideas where to find this darn part and screw.
I'm thinking of sources in the U.S. as well.

Because you removed the "url" portions it's not a link I can see. I get a 404 error when I cut and paste because of the dot filler in the middle.

I wanted to look at them to see if they were parts which might be easily made in a typical home shop.

I spent some time on their site and they do ship up'ear and they use USPS.
Going to give them a shout in the a.m. and get an order in.
This 131 is a neat rig.
Somewhat resembles the old Winchester Model 70's to some extent.
The receiver is grooved for a scope mount and doesn't have the
side button mag release.
It's a bit more cumbersome than the 69A's, but there aren't that many around.
The chap I bought it from has/had a Winchester Model 55.
It is a single shot semi auto.
No typo'ear................google it.
Another weird Winchester eye deer.

Maybe not Winchester's eye deer. I've got a roughly 100 year old French single shot rimfire that ejects the casing after firing and locks open waiting for the next round to be placed. Then I press the slide release and it chambers and cocks the striker and is ready to shoot.

I had to make a full set of springs for it. And that was a nightmare trying to get the balance between a mainspring strong enough to fire pushed by a recoil spring strong enough to #### the mainspring on closing while still not being too strong to prevent the bolt locking back. I've got a box around here somewhere of springs that were not quite right...... But I've got it working now with CCI Quiet like a champ. And it's a really great shooter as well.

Well chit, spent 20 oar so moments awn hold only to find out they t'ain't taking
international orders for a while.
Hire mawr staff, goll dang it.

They're not taking them at all, or not for a while? Could always contact Clay @ Prophet River. Maybe having NM ship to a US address could speed things along.

They are behind on local sales and have decided to post phone International orders
for the time being.
There is a header on their site explaining the whut fores of this.
Maybe next month they'll be more obliging.
This sucks big time.

I guess I need to grow sum payshints.

I think they charge an extra $35 fee for international orders too. Doesn't matter if the order is for 1 screw , or a whole mess of parts.
Check over what they have , that you could use , and order everything all at once . Maybe even a group buy ?
I know a gunsmith that orders from them , but he waits till he's got a big order. I think he places an order once every couple of months.
Just look at it as a shopping spree , and go crazy ! LOL good luck with the waiting part ! that would be frustrating . At least you know they DO have the parts though !

just got this email from Numrich

Dear Valued Customer,

Effective April 5th, 2017 we will resume shipping to Canada, Puerto Rico (U.S. protectorate), and Virgin Islands (U.S. protectorate).
These destinations will have separate shipping charges that have been adjusted to address the increased shipping costs.
All AES processing charges will be discontinued.
Please click here for more information on U.S. Government restrictions, our Company Policy, Shipping Charges, and Payments.
Sincerely, Gun Parts Corporation

I am going to assume that the extra $35 was the AES fee which is now gone?

Update:............. Just got off the phone with Numrich and placed an order for a bunch of parts, including
this magazine latch and screw to hold it.
Order came to around the $120 mark and shipping was a tad over $20.
They ship USPS and it'll be curious to see where this $140 comes in at in Kannerbucks.

Detach mag's for my 69A at $22.00 each, even doubled up is still cheaper than knock offs up'ear.

Fruch, I'm pumped........................:runaway:..............:dancingbanana:..............:dancingbanana:.................

I googled the model of .22 and seems it is somewhat rare?
Of course the term 'rare' being subjective and all.
But, what I did notice that lots of places mentioned various other models may cross reference the one you have Loogie Lk guy.
Sounds like it is under control now and thats a good thing.
Tight Groups,
Rob

Well, I think I can see some bubbles in the clear coat ;) , but aside from that it sure looks good.
So, does it stay in the stable or is it coming to Kamloops?
Saturday sounds like I'll be there, instead of the last.
