Just wait until the original M&P have pretty much dried up (they're popping up for cheap from a lot of vendors).

Then the distributor(s) will set a lower price for its dealers. I bet the $649/$699 ones were an oops moment by the vendor.

Is the 2.0 approved in canada? Id like to get one off of i run guns but i dont want to pay the restocking fee if it doesnt get accepted into the country. How can you find out if the rcmp has approved a new product?

There's a few Canadian dealers who already had them for sale and have since sold out.
 
I got a 2.0 in 40 from a dealer here. The original M&P didn't impress me. The new one blows away the polymer competition. Seriously the best polymer pistol I have had my hands on and I have owned or shot them all. I am definitely in for a 9 mm and maybe a 45 too.
 
Looking for an M&P 9 M2.0 5" FDE with no thumb safety range kit myself. A buddy is also looking for one.
